The first part clearly makes it a tongue in cheek comment.
So this entire COVID thing brings up an interesting situation, borders. Prior, Liberals wanted them wide open. Now, they all seem to be behind the shut down of borders and international travel. This entire pandemic makes the case better than about anything...a nation without borders isn't a nation, and they are quite important. Meanwhile...

The federal government has constructed more than 40 miles of wall along the southern border with Mexico since the outbreak of the coronavirus in the United States.
More than half of the additional wall and fencing have been constructed since early February, the Washington Times reported.
The first confirmed case of the COVID-19 virus was reported on Jan. 20.
“Today is not the time to play politics with the lives of U.S. Citizens," Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told the newspaper. "Walls have proven to stop illegal entries into the United States, therefore they are an essential law enforcement resource which will undoubtedly help in reducing the spread of COVID-19."
Federal immigration authorities said they have completed 142 miles of new wall with more than 400 still in the preconstruction phase, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Last week, the Department of Homeland Security changed its asylum-seeker 'Remain in Mexico' policy so migrants will remain there longer because of the outbreak of the virus, the Washington Examiner reported.
President Trump has made securing the southern border a hallmark of his first term in the Oval Office. Citing national security, he banned travel to the United States from China by foreign nationals.
More than 100,000 people in the U.S. have been infected with COVID-19, and 1,500 had died of the virus as of Saturday morning.

Why do you want a board where posters can wish death upon others? I'm curious. This is an obvious and simple rule one would THINK everyone would get behind. Thou shalt not wish death upon other posters. Why do you want it to be allowed?

I have seen actual pictures from my cousin from Italy and I can tell you it is real. Her husband is currently a firefighter in France and she is a nurse. Things are as bad as they say in Italy if not worse and pretty awful in France as well where her husband just absolutely rails against how the government is not doing enough. It gives me a much different perspective. This is real and probably worse than they are saying. China has got to be lying about their numbers.

That's not what he did Tim. And honestly I don't care if someone wishes me to kick my air addiction or tells me to self evict from my meat suit. I do care about people not being able to speak their minds due to overzealous moderation.
now Tim did not say it was a death threat. He stated you wished death on another poster which is not really what you did either. You made a joke, a bad joke stating he should hang himself first.
now do we want to stick to this back and forth over the joke and my response or move forward from here?

The River Church in Tampa was packed to the gills with worshipers who clearly were looking for hope. Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, who presides over the megachurch and has been reportedly defiant over social distancing, has claimed he'll cure coronavirus just the way he did with Zika.

For long time, it was quite acceptable at SN to see posts with " suck a glock", "eat a dick with aids on the tip" and "die in a grease fire", all of which became comical to regulars. Dark humor was ok.
Now it is not, because some "tastes" have changed. That means the standards have changed, as Coolie articulated above, and as Tim so clearly opined.
Some view that as better; maybe it is.
But it clearly is censorship.
And that sucks.
This thread is much better because Spike, with his stories, facts, headlines, hyperbole and excited utterings, has been allowed to return.
Maybe the P&R forum needs to add an asterisk to "lightly moderated*" where
* - subject to changing tastes
