I agree with you, to me, if you work in an office building and multiple tenants, if someone tests positive, the whole building should be notified. Especially when you share HVAC for an entire building.

We get info on individual cases in county and towns/city by age and sex, and by zip code, fewer than 5 in my area

When you can point to the words Trump used hurting anything, you "might" have a point.
While you speak of San Francisco and the gold standard job they did, you might want to go re-check your history. Watch the video below, with countless examples of leaders in the USA and he world over downplaying this deep into March, MANY encouraging massive to large group gatherings in places like New York and lo and behold GASP Nancy ******* Pelosi encouraging group gatherings in China Town in San Francisco....all collectively saying, this is nothing to fear.

To begin with you know Trump put travel restrictions on China in Feb, right? Trump made the decision after accepting the recommendation of the public health officials at HHS.
Forward to March and your insistence that Trump had downplayed the virus...

What you clever lefties do, and what you always do is cherry pick a comment that fits your anti Trump agenda and run with it.
Here is that same statement in context, in bold..
