This probably deserves it's own thread, but here is how the battle is fought.......

Well, turns out our SpEd kids and medically fragile are NOT exempt from mask wearing. We had one kiddo have a meltdown when having to put it on. This will not bode well for when school starts in August. And this kiddo isn’t even a behavior kiddo.

In less than 4 months, our government successfully instilled fear in a majority of the population in America that allows them to control every aspect of your life. Including what you eat, where you go, who you see and your toilet paper.
And the most dangerous and terrifying part? People are not afraid of the government who removed their freedom. They're afraid of their neighbors, family and friends.
And they hate those who won't comply.
It's absolutely terrifying to me that so many people don't question "authority". They are willing to surrender their critical thinking skills and independence. They just... gave up without thinking. Without a fight.
Do you know what's coming next?

Wait until you're told that you can't enter any store or business without proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Wait until you can't go to public events or get on a plane without proof of receiving the vaccine.
To everyone that doesn't believe this is possible - DO YOU UNDERSTAND that government successfully dictated to people WHEN they were allowed to be outside, where they were allowed to go, and how their children would be educated in less than 4 months? And that a majority of the population followed blindly because they were told to do so.
You're kidding yourself if you think this behavior won't be repeated with a vaccine. Or whatever the next step is.

Eyeroll. Wearing a thin piece of cloth so you don't spit a virus all over people, only when you are confined in public spaces with other people. So that we can possibly slow the spread down enough and open businesses and schools without rapidly infecting millions of people with a virus that can be deadly to some.

Vaccines have eradicated or virtually eradicated dozens of diseases that used to kill or permanently disable millions of people. Suddenly,

If the government has dictated where people can go and when they can be outside, they sure are doing a ****** job of it because in many places people are all over the place doing what they want with no repercussions except maybe having to deal with someone telling them "Sorry you can't come in here without a thin piece of cloth on your face."
Why the hell do you have some inalienable right to go around infecting people with a contagious disease when there's an easy way to prevent it, or at least slow it down? Why did that become something people thought we should fight for?

I don't have Kung Flu, which only kills 0.04% of the people who get it. But go ahead and be a lemming.
Why have we never had a mask mandate for the flu? It kills millions. We have had it run through our kids schools like the black plague before. No big deal, people get sick right ?

In a few months covid has killed almost double what a bad flu season is in a year. Who knows how many died before covid was tested for. Wearing a mask is simply being respectful to other human beings. No matter how you feel about the govt and what not it doesn't matter. Just because your too big and tough and too cool for a mask doesn't mean your not going to infect some compromised person. Every one in healthcare has worn a mask for years and years and its just not for the hell of it. People just have 0 respect for each other now a days from both sides

You have no idea whether you have it or not at any given time.
It only kills very few but it puts a lot of others in the hospital and the ICU which is really not a fun experience either. Especially if it puts a whole lot of them there at once.

The flu kills about 60.000/year in the US at worst. It's also clearly seasonal, we have some immunity in the population to many strains so it doesn't spread nearly as fast, and there are vaccines that prevent some of it.
In a year or two we will likely be there with this virus. This is temporary.
Right. It will be over on November 4th.

Something that hasn't been talked about is the months long recovery or long-term damage it causes for the "recovered." I keep seeing individual stories, though they haven't quantified how many have actually made full recoveries versus those who no longer have Covid but are left with permanent damage.
It appears that three critical errors in this country were calling it just like the flu, that it only affects the old or those with pre-existing conditions, and masks don't do anything when they didn't want people hoarding N-95 masks so they'd be available for medical personnel. Another thing that surprises me is the attitude that these restrictions are only being carried out here because of some conspiracy government control tactic when they're being carried out all over the world...and apparently much better elsewhere since cases are way down virtually everywhere else.

I think of a real American as someone who is willing to make personal sacrifices for the common good. Wearing a mask seems like a small sacrifice to make if it protects the health of fellow citizens and helps us collectively defeat this virus. Nearly 2,000 VA veterans have lost their lives so far from the virus, I'd hate to be someone who ignores the mask and social distancing and causes a death for someone that made real sacrifices for the common good.

Not that I'm against wearing masks, but you do realize they've cooked the **** out of the books on this virus, right? And they didn't send flu infected patients to nursing homes all over the country in certain states, right? They also don't get paid for flu infected deaths. They don't count 'probably' scenarios where a person died and might have had the flu, and count it as a flu death.
If you can't see that this is political in nature, the 'response', I don't know what to tell you.
