The Coronavirus thread

That isn't so unusual. In Germany, sex workers are paid and taxed on what they earn. They have regular taxpayer funded health screenings. Hell, it's not unusual to see their husbands/boyfriends drop them off and pick them up from the brothel. I think most European countries are similar.

I understand that they're looked at differently in Europe, I was more making a statement on them being 'essential' here in this country.

Sadly accurate.

Our school board voted on Monday that no matter how bad the numbers are in our county and how many cases each school has, that elementary kids will NEVER go remote again. The reason the elementary kids are remote now is because the teachers are calling out sick and they can’t get subs to fill the need. One school had 25% of its staff out sick! I don’t worry about getting sick, but what sense does it make to reopen schools when the staffing isn’t there? Even if teachers don’t have covid, they still call out. Each school has hired in-building subs to help fill the need, but two subs per school won’t cut it. I know the board caved to the Karen and Ken parents who bitched about precious Johnny being home all day. It’s stupid.

Our school has decided it's not going full remote anymore either unless absolutely necessary. They are going to stay on hybrid after Christmas Break and hopefully back to full time as soon as possible. However, we did have to start Christmas Break 3 days early at the high school and go full remote due to 7 teachers currently under quarantined either Covid positive or as close contacts. Every one of them unrelated. They didn't spread among the staff, all the cases were brought in through family or outside contacts.

Our county has stopped reporting close contacts and is now leaving it up to the infected person to tell everyone he has the Rona.

AOC - sex workers are workers.

and you shouldn't look down on sex workers (unless you're in standing position), but Melania is a gold-digging ***** for landing a sugar daddy.

Add kids to this graphic too.

No ****, right? Except they're too confused and scared to tell anyone til it's too late. Drop a nuke on China now and just get it over with.

Wow....that's something.

I knew nothing about it until Tuesday when my coworkers were discussing the board’s decision on elementary schools. I don’t know what precipitated the county’s decision- all I can think of is that they are so far behind that they will never catch up on contact tracing everyone.

We are becoming more and more "European" quicker than we all think...

  • China created the Chinese flu.
  • China lied about its contagion properties.
  • China hid and lied about the danger posed by the Chinese flu.
  • China banned travel from Wuhan to other locations in China, while freely allowing travel from Wuhan to Europe, Australia, the United States, etc.
  • There is new evidence to show that China locked down all domestic traffic internally by end January 2020 but pushed to open foreign travel till end March. Data from Tom Tom traffic index, a traffic location site that covers 416 cities across 57 countries show that as a result of this strategy, China, intentionally or otherwise, unknown to the rest of the world was able to lockdown its cities. While this reduced the spread of the Corona virus within China, China’s aggressive foreign travel policy lead to a virus explosion worldwide.

Of course it is. You make the points of things that actually happened, but you could've typed it in Mandarin and it'd be all the same to these lunatics.

No need, none at all. Dr. Jill created a vaccine, and the media will be sure to remind us when Beijing Joe is President that the goddamn virus came from China!

Completely unscientific observation, but all year through November I only had two Covid deaths at my funeral home. In the first two weeks of December I've had four. So far the youngest of the six was 74 years old.

So people that probably would have died from the regular flu died of the Wuhan Virus.

Wow that not shocking at all.

ONCE again....the "SCIENCE" is wrong...and never was science...but it sure has been effectively used to control and destroy so many of us.

New analysis shows infection from asymptomatic cases incredibly low — even within households

But politicians remain fixated on their life-destroying policies

Prior to this year, few people have ever used the term "asymptomatic," and many never heard of it, but today, it governs our lives. Despite Dr. Fauci and other experts saying from day one that asymptomatic spread "has never been the driver of outbreaks," we have upended our lives for nine months under the premise that any one of us — regardless of whether we have symptoms — could be a silent killer who needs to be isolated, monitored, and masked. Yet, as the months wear on, evidence continues to mount that asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 carriers contribute less to the spread than previously thought, not more.

A new meta-analysis published in JAMA by researchers in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and the Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, found that the secondary attack rate from symptomatic carriers of SARS-CoV-2 is nearly 26 times greater than from asymptomatic carriers. The analysis pooled together 54 studies with a total of 77,758 participants. These studies collectively observed the chances of one infected person in a home with multiple occupants infecting others in the household.

Not surprisingly, the authors found that the household attack rate for SARS-CoV-2 was relatively high compared to other pandemic coronaviruses like SARS and MERS. Overall, they estimated the household secondary attack rate was 16.6%. However, they found a massive gap between primary transmitters who were symptomatic and those who were asymptomatic. Those with symptoms wound up transmitting the virus to household members 18% of the time, while those who were asymptomatic transmitted to just 0.7% of household contacts.

Also, in line with the findings of other studies, "Critically severe index case symptoms was associated with higher infectiousness in 6 studies of 9 in which this was examined." Meaning, the more severely ill you are, the more contagious you can be.

It's truly hard to overstate the significance of this finding relative to the perception of the public based on the lies we've been told concerning asymptomatic spread. To begin with, the death rate for those under 70, according to Stanford epidemiologist John Ioannidis, is 0.05%. That means that your chance of dying from the virus after meeting with people who have no symptoms is 0.00035%, or 1 in 285,714, if you are under 70! That is essentially most of America's workforce. They are upending their lives because someone without symptoms might give them a virus that is rarely deadly for them.

Also, keep in mind that this low rate of secondary attack among asymptomatic carriers of the virus is taken from household transmission, which is much more prevalent than attack rates in stores or businesses. This means that your chances of being infected and dying from someone who is asymptomatic by simply passing them in a restaurant or store (much less outdoors) is so infinitesimal, it's well below the risk we assume in taking every step in life.

Yet the politicians refuse to pry themselves loose from this fixation on stores and restaurants as if they are responsible for transmission, especially when patrons are showing no visible symptoms. It's not just the purveyors of panic pornography who will never let go of the myth of mass asymptomatic spread. There is an entire testing-industrial complex behind the fixation with testing people for asymptomatic infection that is too big to fail with the state health bureaucracies.

My former colleague, Jordan Schachtel, researched the cost of these tests and found that, at 2 million tests performed per day, the current median cost for COVID testing in America is "approximately $254 million dollars per day, $7.6 billion per month, and $91.4 billion per year." That doesn't include all the sundry costs engendered by the testing that benefit the broader health care-government complex, such as the cost of specimen collection and amplification, extra doctor's visits, and endless opportunities to milk the federal trough, which continues to dump billions of dollars into the testing regime.

What is so disconcerting about the politicians refusing the rethink their stance on asymptomatic spread is that this will not end with the vaccine. So long as we continue testing with 40 layers of amplification, it's very likely that we can still detect trace levels of the virus, even in people who already recovered or have been vaccinated. This is likely true of most viruses, but because we've never tested 2 million people a day with super-sensitive tests, we never focused on the "reinfection" of those with vaccinations.

Thus, until we restore constitutional rights and a modicum of non-flat-earth scientific acumen, business owners will continue to be threatened with jail time, all for a lie.

A friend in Michigan told me that ***** Gov. Whitmer just extended the lockdown until Jan 15th. She needs to be in jail. For life.

What sanctions has Trump placed on China for passing Covid to us? Shouldn't we take actions when a foreign nation takes American lives?

What sanctions has Trump placed on China for passing Covid to us? Shouldn't we take actions when a foreign nation takes American lives?

wait. are you saying that the Wuhan Flu is attributable to China? that the Chinese Covid is in fact Chinese?

What sanctions has Trump placed on China for passing Covid to us? Shouldn't we take actions when a foreign nation takes American lives?

1. The President asked Congress to give him power to sanction China due to Covid, the Senate agreed, but as usual the grotesque collection of ugly ***** and morons in the (D)im-led House stopped the legislation.

https://news.yahoo.com/us-senate-threatens-sanctions-china-over-covid-19-220601089.html

2. Of course China should face serious discipline for its murder campaign. Of course.

So when are Beijing Joe and the libs going to act on the legislation that passed the Senate but was tied up in the vile, corrupt House??

3. Finally, are you utterly incapable of researching something? I constantly do your work, cite links, give you information. You disappear for a couple days or weeks after getting the information, never acknowledge the information I gave you, and when you re-appear, often repeat the same stupid, erroneous remarks I have already disproved.

Trump Senate ally seeks China sanctions over COVID-19 probe
By David Brunnstrom

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A prominent U.S. Republican senator proposed legislation on Tuesday that would authorize the U.S. president to impose far-reaching sanctions on China if it fails to give a full account of events leading to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of President Donald Trump, said he was convinced that had it not been for “deception” by China’s ruling Communist Party, the virus would not be in the United States, where it has killed more than 80,000 Americans.

Graham said China had refused to allow investigators to study how the outbreak started and added in a statement: “I’m convinced China will never cooperate with a serious investigation unless they are made to do so.”

Trump critics, including some former officials, academics and columnists, have said that while China has much to answer for, the U.S. administration appears to be seeking to deflect attention from what they see as a slow U.S. response to the crisis.

Graham said his “COVID-19 Accountability Act” would require the president to make a certification to Congress within 60 days that China had “provided a full and complete accounting to any COVID-19 investigation led by the United States, its allies or U.N. affiliate such as the World Health Organization.”

It would also require certification that China had closed all “wet markets” that can expose humans to health risks, and released all Hong Kong pro-democracy advocates arrested in post-pandemic crack-downs.

China is resolutely opposed to this “immoral” bill and has been open and transparent since the beginning of the epidemic, said Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian, at a daily briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

The bill would authorize the president to impose a range of sanctions, including asset freezes, travel bans and visa revocations, as well as restrictions on loans to Chinese businesses by U.S. institutions and banning Chinese firms from listing on U.S. exchanges.

The legislation was co-sponsored by eight other Republican senators.

China’s Washington embassy did not respond to a request for comment. The outbreak began in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year.

‘FIX IT’

Trump and his Republican backers have repeatedly accused Beijing of failing to alert the world to the severity and scope of the outbreak, which has sparked a worldwide economic contraction and threatened his November re-election chances.

Democratic Senator Tim Kaine, whose party controls the House, said things “definitely went wrong in China” but there was a need to look at the full story and the Trump administration should not escape scrutiny.

“Let’s get the story out on the table first and see what everybody’s part of this problem was, to fix it going forward, and then we can decide about accountability,” he told an event hosted by Washington’s Meridien Center.

A Democratic House aide said China continued to hide the facts about the pandemic and there should be a full-scale international effort to account for what has happened.

But the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, charged that the U.S. State Department had ignored multiple deadlines to share with Congress information on the virus’ origins.

“If the administration wants Congress to act, they should stop stonewalling and show us the ‘evidence’ they claim to have,” the aide said.

The U.S. national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, and Larry Kudlow, the national economic adviser, warned on Monday against investment of federal retirement dollars in Chinese firms given “the possibility of future sanctions will result from the culpable actions of the Chinese government” over the coronavirus.U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has also hinted at future sanctions on China for the devastation caused to the global economy and human life.
