The Coronavirus thread

And this just makes me feel all secure and such about the vaxsheens.

How does this make you feel about the Moderna vaxsheen?

RNA vaccine by Moderna contains Luciferin dissolved with 66.6ml of distilled phosphate

So herd immunity is here but cases are up 17% over the past two weeks? That some ****** herd immunity.

Or it’s just what he predicted might happen six weeks ago?
Panic Peddler,

You'd do well to read the actual article. "Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins declared...that we’ll have herd immunity by April. In fact, he said by the end of April, COVID won’t really be a big deal."
  • “About 1 in 600 Americans has died of Covid-19, which translates to a population fatality rate of about 0.15%. The Covid-19 infection fatality rate is about 0.23%.” By that count...two-thirds of the country already had the virus; the survival rate is 90+ percent
  • With natural immunity, plus vaccinations soaring past 100 million by now, his estimate of herd immunity isn’t nuts.
  • He cites an unpublished Israeli study by the nation’s ministry of health that showed just one dose of the Pfizer vaccine renders the subject virtually “bulletproof” from COVID after four weeks.
  • Anthony Fauci has been saying that the country needs to vaccinate 70% to 85% of the population to reach herd immunity from Covid-19. But he inexplicably ignores natural immunity. If you account for previous infections, herd immunity is likely close at hand.
  • Data from the California Department of Public Health, released earlier this month, show that while only 8.7% of the state’s population has ever tested positive for Covid-19, at least 38.5% of the population has antibodies against the novel coronavirus. Those numbers are from Jan. 30 to Feb. 20. Adjusting for cases between now and then, and accounting for the amount of time it takes for the body to make antibodies, we can estimate that as many as half of Californians have natural immunity today.
  • The same report found that 45% of people in Los Angeles had Covid-19 antibodies. Again, the number can only be higher today.
  • Between “half and two-thirds of our population has antibodies in it now,” due to Covid exposure or vaccination, Mayor Eric Garcetti said Sunday on “Face the Nation.”
  • That would explain why cases in Los Angeles are down 95% in the past 11 weeks and the positivity rate among those tested is now 1.7%.
You may wanna visit people like Mayor Garcetti, a Liberal who's nutsac you lap at, and ask them why they are destroying your panic peddling, fear mongering business.

The CDC's own web page seems to be happy about these trends, conflicting with your own numbers:

Reported Cases

Overall, COVID-19 cases have decreased for the past 10 weeks, although we have seen consistent increases in the 7-day average of new cases over the past few days. The current 7-day moving average of new cases (56,995) decreased 77.2% compared with the highest peak on January 11, 2021 (250,400), and 15.4% compared with the second highest peak on July 23, 2020 (67,337). On March 24, there was a 6.7% increase in the 7-day average number of daily cases reported compared with the prior week.

The total US Cases bell curve is following the typical curve all viruses follow, yes?

By the way, you were banging that drum hard about South Dakota and North Dakota being the next apocalyptic locations for the China plague...banged that drum HARD....you and scientific predictions don't typically go well do they?

How much $$ are you making off the plague Floggy?

Yeah, but big daddy government says I should take my medicine because.........reasons.

Just to be clear, I'm no anti-vaxxer, but I'm not jumping on a bandwagon to get the stabby on this one. I'm taking a wait and see approach, and my wait may be a long time.

Also, every single one of these companies has had medicines or devices that they have put out as "Awesome and Innovative......Game changer" that have ended with many people being harmed and big lawsuits. Seems these vaxsheens will be pretty lucrative for them...............yeah, I'll wait.

Awweeeeee, Corn Pop done gone got mad. Bravo Texas.

And this is great news. The CDC says if you're vaccinated, you don't carry the virus.

yeah, but the CDC isnt listening to the same science as President Peepads (who, coincidentally, was serving as a stock clerk when science was discovered in a Delaware basement)

**** the vaccines and **** this political farce virus. If they require (unconstitutionally) vaccination in order to travel then I'll buy a black market card.

What is Luciferin and is it used in the COVID-19 vaccine?

In biochemistry, luciferin is the name of the organic compound whose oxidation in the presence of the enzyme luciferase produces light. Luciferase and its substrate luciferin can be found in such living organisms as fireflies. Fireflies light up due to this substance reaction. Moreover, the mentioned substances can also be found in luminous marine and terrestrial microorganisms. Albeit, the gene for the most common enzyme luciferase comes from the firefly.

The power of luciferase has been actively harnessed by scientists. Light output produced by the chemical reaction of this substance is used to monitor biochemical processes including gene expression, biomolecular binding, and cell viability.

According to the MediaWise’s fact-check published on the International Fact-Checking Network by Poynter Institute, which was based on the article from the Texas Medical Center, virologists at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston are using the enzyme to develop faster and more accurate diagnostic tests for COVID-19 as well as to analyze potential therapies and gain a clearer understanding of the SARS-CoV-2 virus itself. For example, with this substance, the University lab can now visually confirm the presence of antibodies that can block a SARS-CoV-2 infection earlier than through previous methods.

The ScienceDirect overview also notes that luciferase is already used to determine the outcome of cancer therapy. Various peer-reviewed studies have revealed that luciferase has been used to study cell activities long before the COVID-19 and enzyme does not cause significant changes in metabolism. Therefore, luciferase and its substrate luciferin are harmless and have been used in scientific work including the assessment of cancer treatment for a long time now.

It’s easy to associate the words luciferin and luciferase with Lucifer – Satan and that's why it easily became the source of various conspiracy theories and disinformation, especially amid the development of the COVID-19 vaccine. Greek Father Kleomenis’s claims that the coronavirus vaccine will contain luciferin to control whether you have taken the vaccine or not is part of the mentioned conspiracy. In 2019, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology did develop a novel way to record a patient's measles vaccine history using the luciferase enzyme and infrared scanners. However, the same has not been approved for the COVID-19 vaccine, thus, making the claim false.

The vaccine will alter human DNA

As for the claim as if coronavirus vaccine alters human DNA and genetics, it is disinformation and has disseminated before. COVID-19, as well as other coronaviruses, are RNA viruses, meaning its genetic information is recorded in RNA. Therefore, its’ vaccine was developed based on RNA and not DNA. It’s worth mentioning that RNA's chemical structure is different from DNA, that's why RNA cannot be integrated into the human genome and thus cause any alterations in genetics.

Researchers working on Oxford and AstraZeneca vaccine explain that coronavirus have club-shaped spikes on their outer coats, which form a crown on the virus surface and presents a good target for a vaccine containing the genetic sequence of this surface spike protein. When the vaccine enters cells inside the human body, it uses this genetic code to produce the surface spike protein that induces an immune response, if the COVID-19 infects the body. For example, chimpanzee adenovirus vaccine technology used in the Oxford vaccine is thoroughly studied and harmless. It contains adenoviral vectors used in Ebola, Hepatitis C, Malaria, and tuberculosis vaccines.

Conspiracies about microchips amid coronavirus pandemic

Conspiracy about compulsory implantation of microchips inside the body for total control and monitoring of humans went viral in various countries in light of coronavirus pandemic. Numerous conspiracies on the "chipping" of population amid pandemic have emerged, which speculate about future coronavirus vaccine and 5G technology. Most commonly, mass compulsory chipping of the population is ascribed to philanthropist Bill Gates and Pope Francis. Read more about the aforesaid topic in fact-checks prepared by “Myth Detector”:

To be clear - I am NOT on any of those conspiracy theories or anything like that. I have a mistrust of rushed out meds/vaccines and am taking a wait and see stance on this. As someone that is currently going through harm caused by a FDA approved medical device from Bayer that was touted as at the next best thing since sliced bread - I think that is reason enough.

All of us have a right to be concerned about vaccines that were rushed to market and have no FDA approval. There's nothing "conspiracy" about that. The issues with RNA development are concern enough.

I received the vaccine and my gf did not. I understand people's hesitancy toward getting it and i am not going to push her or anyone one way or another. I think that there are legit reasons to be concerned, but people are also putting out a ton of bogus info that is stoking unnecessary fear. Hard to wade through the BS on both sides.

Good luck with that. But understand The vaccine is essentially worthless because you can still dance and transmit the virus after receiving the vaccine. And this is for a virus that has a 99.7% recovery rate.

And that’s After the inflation due to co-morbidities. And car accidents. And overdoses. And suicides. Covid ain’t ****.

I listen to the doctors that are practicing medicine on a daily basis. I do not listen to bureaucrats sitting in offices in Bethesda who haven't seen a patient in 5o years.

I have a good friend who is a practicing physician at Allegheny General Hospital, possibly the largest hospital in Western PA. He said to absolutely get it. He also said all of his colleagues didn't hesitate to get it. My PCP also said ******* get it as soon as you are able. He did use the word *******.

That was good enough for me.

I stated two FACTS. Show me what Markary is saying NOW about when herd immunity will be achieved. It hasn’t happened. Again, cases are on the rise. That’s not something you see when you have herd immunity.

The author of that article should be apologizing for being oblivious to the obvious, as should you.

Sometimes people do things for others and not for themselves. It’s not just about immunizing yourself for something of little risk to you personally, it’s about ending a pandemic that is of significant risk to others.

Tibs...which vaccination did you take?

Pzifer, Modera, J&J?

Just curious what they offer overseas..

Dupe

Please show your data on cases rising that conflicts with the CDC's data I posted:

FROM the CDC: Reported Cases

Overall, COVID-19 cases have decreased for the past 10 weeks, although we have seen consistent increases in the 7-day average of new cases over the past few days. The current 7-day moving average of new cases (56,995) decreased 77.2% compared with the highest peak on January 11, 2021 (250,400), and 15.4% compared with the second highest peak on July 23, 2020 (67,337). On March 24, there was a 6.7% increase in the 7-day average number of daily cases reported compared with the prior week.

You should apologize for not understanding what herd immunity really is. Apparently, you don't understand it.

Every year we achieve some level of herd immunity with the flu (well in years where it doesn't simply disappear like this year because of the magical Rona). Each year that level is different. Each year cases RISE before, during, after herd immunity is achieved in certain populations.

Herd immunity is a form of indirect protection from infections disease that can occur with some diseases when a sufficient percentage of a population has become immune to an infection, whether through vaccination or previous infections, thereby reducing the likelihood of infection for individuals who lack immunity. Immune individuals are unlikely to contribute to disease transmission, disrupting chains of infection, which stops or slows the spread of disease. The greater the proportion of immune individuals in a community, the smaller the probability that non-immune individuals will come into contact with an infectious individual.

Some interesting learning for you:

How Math (and Vaccines) Keep You Safe From the Flu

1 − 1/R0 is the magic percentage that results in linear, and not exponential, growth of the disease. At this level of vaccination — namely, 1 − 1/R0 percent of the entire population — a group achieves a kind of collective immunity to a disease: not immunity from individuals becoming infected, but immunity from the disease spreading through the population at an exponential rate. This property is known as “herd immunity.” The percentage of vaccination required in a population to achieve herd immunity is referred to as the “herd immunity threshold” (HIT).

DiseaseR01–1R0HIT
Measles121–11291.7%
Smallpox51–1580%
Mumps41–1475%
Influenza pandemic21–1250%
You appear to believe herd immunity means we have no new cases at all. You are wrong. As stated above, cases still GROW after herd immunity.

We also don't know when we get to herd immunity with COVID. See the chart above? You need different levels of vaccinations to get to HIT. See the table above. Notice the variances. Funny, the flu. When we get to 50% vaccination for the flu, that's called herd immunity. But cases still rise after that annually. 'Magine that huh?

You also confuse the good Doctor's words. There's a month of April to go. And given the math put forward, one can logically argue, we may already be at herd immunity.

You ducked the questions about South and North Dakota Floggy. Did you put those drums back in your closet? Done banging them?
