Sorry Hammy, I changed my response to Darth. I do like your post and agree that he is an old white man but he does in fact sound a lot like James Earl Jones....That in itself has to scare the hell out of the kids. So the mask might indeed help.
I've pretty much slowed down on posting about the fraud Fauci. It's going to be like Hillary and Hunter and every other Democrat since, able to literally commit crime after crime and skate free, while Conservatives who tell one lie under oath go to prison.
But in the past week, so much more about Fauci's ties to the Wuhan Source of the Kung Flu has shown up, it bears discussing again.
If this were a police officer, he'd have been put on a leave of absence. Instead, the man continues to drive policy and do TV interviews and make stupid ******* recommendations while all of this evidence piles up. Infuriating.

The guidance met with a quick backlash on social media, with commentators pointing out that football stadiums and Hollywood galas are welcoming packed crowds, but family groups are being advised to avoid close contact.
“Listen. I am vaxxed. I take Covid seriously,” one commentator noted. “But the CDC recommending virtual thanksgiving when everyone stadium in this entire country is packed is HILARIOUS.”

Other than wearing an employer mandated mask for a few months, my life has been back to normal for the last year. Back in the office Sept 2020. I was vaxxed back in March, my wife is, and my 14yo son is too. Not anti-vaxxers. I take a Vit B every morning, and take zinc when I will be around groups. It is not that I am unaware of the risks, just not willing to abdicate my life to gov't bureaucrats.
I feel that we have been fed a **** sandwich. I held my nose and took a bite for a few months. No more. I live in one of the current hotbeds of Covid spread, and I know no one with the disease. Most I know, are vaxxed, and have resumed their lives, as I have.
This pandemic is over for me, and most around me.
Just putting out the truth.

My daughter has been on quarantine because she was exposed to a sick student at lunch. There were a few others put on quarantine on Tuesday due to a different exposure. Masks are optional at her school. She gets to go back to school on Monday. On our Excela call at work they have 53 patients in the hospitals with covid. That is spanning 3 hospitals. They said that 99% of those in the hospital were unvaxxed and 13 were on respirators.
On a side note our dietician is getting a hip replacement next Wednesday that was originally scheduled for Feb. Hospitals are not doing many elective surgeries because several nursing homes are not taking new residents due to staffing issues.

I'm sorry about your daughter and your struggles, but who are "they"? And why do we have more deaths in 2021 than 2020 when (I believe) a pretty good portion of the population were fully vaccinated by April 2021?

My sister in law has been in the hospital since Wednesday with Covid pneumonia. She is not doing very well. She is 50. Brother in law (her husband) is a doctor, and his words were "All we can do now is wait. This really did a number on her lungs." I'm not sure if she is vaccinated or not, but considering she works for Pfizer, I would imagine she is. I know my BIL is vaccinated. So we are hoping and praying for a good outcome.

Why isn't the world making China a smoldering hole in the ground?
China has a much better bug in the cookie jar. 30% kill rate. That's some serious leverage. You can't shoot it down and it comes like a thief in the night.

This is absolutely ludicrous. How can any rational, thinking person think this is necessary or effective? SMDH.This is the **** that Tiblio, Floggy, Liberals call science. They will look you square in the face and tell you it's proven. Then, when like this policy and the woman backing it are busted....they will call you a denier, despite the fact they refer to science that doesn't...even...exist.

Principal Neil O’Brien emailed parents four days after the first day of school with an update on COVID policies at Geiger. He said students must wear their masks during lunch in the cafeteria and, despite social distancing and outstanding ventilation, they must put the mask back up to chew and swallow their food.
Michael tells the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH that he reached out to the principal with his concerns. He never heard back. He did, however, hear from Shallae Hobbs, Tacoma Public Schools’ administrator of health services.
Using local and national guidelines, Hobbs explained that the policy is based on sound science. In an email to Michael, she links to several documents to back up the chewing and swallowing mask policy. But none of the advice appears anywhere in the resources she provided.
Hobbs claims “children are encouraged to put there [sic] mask back on when not eating or drinking as outlined in the CDC resource document outline in the K-12 Schools guidance.” She even cites page 6 as the source.
But neither page 6 nor any page in the document addresses masks while chewing and swallowing. That page only suggests you provide social distancing “for all students when masks cannot be worn, such as when eating lunch.” In other words, the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the exact opposite of what she claims.
Hobbs also cites the “food service and school meals section” in guidance from the CDC. Again, there’s not even a mention of eating lunch. The focus is on social distancing during lunch.
She also cites local guidance from the state Department of Health.
None of the documents reference masking when chewing. It includes the same guidance from the CDC, indicating it’s not feasible to wear a mask while eating lunch.
Hobbs inexplicably cites the exemptions section from a Secretary of Health order. She must not have read it. It explicitly says you do not have to wear a mask “while engaged in the act of eating or drinking.”
Despite citing guidance that doesn’t exist — indeed, it says the opposite of what she claims — Hobbs concludes that “eating can be a high risk activity as masks are removed and in some instances students are within 6 feet, re-masking when not actively engaged in eating or drinking can help add another layer of protection.”
