The loss is part on the coaches for not having them in max protect. MSU had nobody back to receive yet Michigan still had their gunners out wide.
Harbaugh is going to get all this credit for turning Michigan around but the fact is he walked into a great situation. Brady Hoke did a good job recruiting. A few years ago he had back to back recruiting classes ranked in the top 5. This kids are juniors and seniors now.
Whoever coached Michigan this year was going to have a good season, even if they kept Hoke.
If a bunch of guys leave early then Michigan could take a step back next year because Hoke's classes after those 2 great ones were not as strong and last year was a lost recruiting season with the transition. So if a bunch of these blue chips leave then Michigan will go back to mediocre talents for a couple seasons.
This season may end up being a bit of a curse for Harbaugh because no doubt Michigan fans will be expecting them to improve every year. Many are probably thinking they will be Championship contenders next year.
