The New NFL Domestic Abuse Policy

goodell that tard goes from 2 games to ,, 6 and a lifetime for 2nd...

Watch the Domestic rates go up once itt gets out...

Goodell is spineless. The media now essentially runs the NFL. The league should have come up with a penalty, that makes sense, but this is totally rushed to appease the media.

The NFLPA should have never agreed to this. Let's see the details. I would hope this has to be tied to an actual conviction. If not, then NFL players can be easily extorted by scammers. They already have to have their guard up but imagine if a woman's word could cost a guy millions.

Goodell is too spineless to defend his own decision with Ray Rice. The NFL did not see the video from inside the elevator. All this clown had to say was there wer no charges because there is no proof of assault and he spoke with Rice's now wife and based on her testimony, he determined 2 games was appropriate. Then when they ask what happened, you just say it is not your place to say and they have to ask Rice and his wife.

That's what a real commissioner would have done, but Goodell is a media *****. So instead he just thought about what punishment he thought the media would deem appropriate and that's what he gave. No he sees he miscalculated and needs to get back on the leash so he rams through this new policy.

Wholeheartedly agree.

If he would have said 6 game ban-> 1 year ban, no one would have batted an eye. But no. He just had to take it to the extreme.

The league and its marketing ploys are becoming all too transparent.

Protect the shield................................ NOT the abused !!!!!!!

Goodell, in an effort to have the medi aview him as tough, used Terrell Pryor's college infractions as basis for an NFL suspension. Will he do the same with this? Is Jameis Winston sitting out his first 6 games?

Agreed

According to the second article cited, Rodger didn't need NFLPA agreement because domestic violence falls under the code of conduct. Also, this does NOT have to be tied to an actual conviction. The league will make decisions based upon each individual case. So yes, players will be put in a position wherein they could be extorted by scammers. On a side note, this may actually lead to the smarter ones not hanging out with "video dancers" and strippers. (I'm talking to you LeBackfield).

So, in his attempt to appease the media, ol' Jolly Rodger has put players in a position where they could possibly be held over a barrel by gold diggers, etc. The lifetime ban is just over the top. And if he really wanted to do something, he should have required counseling after a first offense.

"In the detailed letter, Goodell announced that violations of the Personal Conduct Policy regarding assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault that involve physical force 'will be subject to a suspension without pay of six games for a first offense.'"

****, which one of these (if any, I can't remember off the top of my head) is our Pouncey twin waiting to see if he will be charged with?

Edit: According to the accusers' attorney, Maurkice is under investigation for battery.

So, under Goodell's new policy, he doesn't have to actually be charged. Rodger only has to say he's found enough evidence to support the claim and then suspend him 6 games (if I'm reading the articles cited correctly). Everyone grab your lube and get ready for the reaming.

In light of Ben's suspension, this and Ray Rice's deal doesn't make any sense. /preaching to choir
Ray is just lucky he didn't play for the Steelers or he'd already have that lifetime ban.

Pouncey's case is not a domestic abuse case. It's a random battery charge. It would not apply.

The issue now is twofold since the punishment is so strict:
1) Crazy/Vengeful women can now use this instead of the rape defense to extort millions out of professionals, ensuring that they won't even have to step into court to get the dollar amounts they want. (Keep in mind, I'm not diminishing actual rape cases, just baseless ones where they are trying to extort for money, when no rape has occurred). In fact, I believe rape accusations will severely decrease in the NFL from this point forward.

2)Domestic Abuse will now go unreported in NFL homes. The wives will now be more apt to take it, since their abuser (and breadwinner) would be earning nothing for the household if they come forward. This is the most egregious violation that will occur due to the new punishments.

see, I read that part as: violations of the personal conduct policy regarding 1) assault 2) battery 3 domestic violence or 4) sexual assault that involve physical force will be subject to a suspension without pay of six games for a first offense. In which case Pouncey's transgression (if there's anything to it) would definitely be applicable.

My question is will The Rogmeister wait to see what a court says or will he just suspend someone based on allegations? How strong does the evidence have to be? In Ray's case it's pretty damn strong without going to court, in Ben's case it was non-existent (twice).

In nearly every instance where physical contact is a requirement so is physical force, touching someone involves physical force. This is another case of WTF.

Reason number 4236 why you should never EVER stick your dick into crazy.

frickin' hilarious...this should be taught in schools.

But it was soooooooooooooooo good

I lost two houses and two cars to crazy wives I stole from other guys....

How guilty does that make me?

What's funny is that nothing changed. There is no new policy. It retains the commish's power to add/subtract from the 6-game penalty due to mitigating factors. So the 6 games is a guideline, not some hard and fast sentence, and Goodell of course has the power to make it one game or 32 games or lifetime or whatever he pleases.

This was not some new policy; it was a prepared statement on how the NFL disapproves of domestic abuse. Nothing more.
