The next Baker

**** baker

didn't like him in college and don't think a hell of a lot about him as a pro

he is better than what he showed in cleveland

but he still falls short of a true franchise qb
How so?

Just because he's not putting up Mahomes-level highlights week-in and week-out, doesn't mean he's not a "true franchise QB", whatever the **** that means

Right now it's Mahomes in his own league followed closely by Allen, Jackson, and Burrow. I think it's fair to put Baker in that next tier of QBs with guys like Stroud, Love, Herbert, Stafford, Goff, etc.

I realize at it's core this board is about sharing ideas about how this team could be better. And they may well make sone kind of splash in FA. I don't believe there is one to he had in the draft. I really don't. It's just at this point it's very hard for me to consider anything that would make this team exciting for next year. It's like that run where I started the thread "Are You Entertained ?" Followed by the debacle that the season turned into....literally broke my spirit for this team.

What has Herbert done to deserve to be on a tier with Stafford? He hasn't won a single playoff game.

Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Geno Smith... all failed at multiple stops, then worked as a backup on a team with a HC or OC with a history of developing qbs, then left and found a starting gig and revitalized their careers in a decent offense...

Im not certain our offensive gameplan is conductive to a qb having success

When we had a HOF QB and a solid offensive supporting cast, our HC was still worried about limiting scoring in favor of chewing game clock up... not something players tend to thrive in...

He has all the traits of a buffoon head coach: His simpleton basics are so skewed. He sits there and ruins a HOF group of players. Unreal. Such a fraud. He is garbage.

Clayton ******* Tune

Are you not a fan of Tomlin?

He plays on a loser franchise. Stafford played on a loser franchise at one point too.

Sure, I agree. Still, that doesnt mean he isnt a "franchise qb". It just means he's not among the very best. But he's still good enough to be a long-term starter for someone, in his case, Tampa. So he's a franchise qb

I was in agreement with you that he's a franchise QB.
