Should turn this into the Rappaport is a joke thread.

This isn't a joke as Rappaport is just throwing **** on the window to see if it sticks and in doing so, #shit4brains may throw a tantrum and get the whole thing tossed. I hope the screws are tightened down hard on #shit4brains and this deal actually maturates to fruition.

ONCE DEAL is signed sealed and delivered then we can JOKE all we want about it.

Salute the nation

The only joke here is the Steelers FO. Can’t control **** and have ZERO control of their organization. They will get raped in this deal and look like the laughing stock of the NFL. Top 10 talent goes for a late 2nd round pick. Watch! They WILL “F” this up.

Hell, Oakland can offer a 3rd round pick, if they are the only real suitor and say, "take it or leave it". "We know there is no other team in the mix."

You cannot control someone who thinks they control their own destiny. AB thinks he can do what ever he wants and his agent is supporting that .. Keep Causing problems .. keep saying no and eventually the Steelers will release him.

I say that is not going to happen. Although I have a couple questions for you experts ..

If he keeps this up and NO team gives them what they want, do they have any recourse ? Can they say if you do not want any of or trade deals you can just retire ..... if he retires does he have to stay out of the NFL for the remainder of his contract with the Steelers ?

He keeps saying he doesn't need football ... then let him get out of football ..

**** off with that ****. the deal was in place. if you can look at this objectively, someone on Buffalo's side leaked the trade. My first guess is that someone contacted Rosenhaus, who then let A ***** know about it. A ***** then threw furniture around the house and having A ***** fit. So Rosenhaus calls Buffalo and tells them A ***** won't play for them. Deal is dead.

Now, how in the **** is this on the Steelers FO?

I could be wrong here, but if the Steelers wanted to play hardball, they could say that he messed up the process so bad, they can't or wont trade him for peanuts, so he is playing under the contract he is signed to here. THat would be an even more toxic situation than they are already in. If he sits, they fine him.

I doubt they want to go that route. He would be a timebomb in that lockerroom, in the media, social media, etc.

you also have to consider - if we keep him, can we trust him on the field at this point?

Steelers get basically nothing I don't trade him. Sit on the bench for 2 years. If he doesn't show up he doesn't get paid. Brown is trying to run the show and the Steelers get garbage in return. ****'em don't play that game and let him rot for 2 years.

not at all! It would be a gamble each week, if he shows up for meeting and practice, let alone games. I understand the Steelers wanting a 1st rounder, but at this point, I'd take OAK's 2nd and 3rd or 4th rd. pick to unload his ***.

I would suspend him, and give him time to think. Ban him from flaming Steelers on social media and in the locker room, and if he does more suspensions. This is sort of new territory, but in no way would I cut AB.

What happens if he does not want to go to Oakland?

I guarantee he'll keep doing it to anywhere they have a deal in place. He has TO in his ear telling him what to do. "Just keep telling teams you won't show up and Steelers will release you I bet."

Would be a dumb move on his part, especially for a player that wants more money now.

I think he would be ok with Oakland. They aren't a bottom feeder normally.

They usually beat the Captain Cool Shades Crusaders no matter how bad they are.

but didn't he say he would retire before he would return to the steelers ? .. If they force his hand and don't let him out of his contract maybe he will just do that -- That leads to the question .. if he retires .. can he go to another team and PLAY ???

IF he doesn't abide by the rules can they suspend him ??

said all along suspend him let him rot for two years.... NEXT!!!!!

If he retires, we hold his rights. He can't just un-retire and play for another team. We would retain his rights for as long as he is retired. Doesn't matter how long the contract is, if he's not playing, it's not accrued seasons and doesn't count.

If you remember several years ago, Carson Palmer retired because he didn't want to play for the bengals, the raiders then traded for his rights so he could un-retire and play for them.

Also, in this case, if we trade him, and he retires the team we traded him to owns his rights.

I wasn’t saying the FO botched this trade! You get pretty emotional while making implications and not reading what I said. I am merely stating that at this point they will probably botch this and become the butt of the joke. Ala the thread title.

They haven’t been real good in the past dumping players through trades, and as this thing drags on; the FO loses any leverage in this process. Furthermore, they don’t have control of the players in the organization. That’s very apparent. The pros act like pros and the “kids” act like kids. There is not strong leadership right now in the FO.

Nonetheless, I like the moves they’ve made in the past 24 and think shopping Gilbert is smart. However, I think they will end up on the punchline side of the AB trade effort as we move into, and probably past 8 March (Friday).

I agree with this. The dealing team should definitely leak it to gauge AB's reaction. What's the use of officially making the trade, then watching him have his ******* hissy fit about not wanting to go.

It wasn't too long ago that we all thought AB was one of the greatest of all time. I mean what the ****. As my son said last night,he really believes AB has mental health issues.

AB mouthed off and ****** the trade with the Bills. I definitely don't take anything less than a 1st and due to his current comments, he now starts next season with a 4 game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
