‘Are You A Racist?’ Protesters Come For ‘Mayor Pete’ After Fatal Police Shooting Of Black Man

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was confronted by a group of protesters in his own hometown Friday following the fatal police shooting of a black man by South Bend police early Sunday morning.

Police Sgt. Ryan O’Neill claimed he fired his weapon when Eric Logan, 54, approached him with a knife and refused to drop it after being confronted vandalizing a car parked at an apartment complex. Logan was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

No camera footage or witnesses exist of the incident, which has stirred up racial tensions in the area because the officer is white and Logan is black. Buttigieg canceled several campaign events, including a fish fry he was supposed to attend Friday, to deal with the issue.

During its commentary Friday evening, CNN played footage of protesters, several of whom were holding “Black Lives Matter” signs, confronting the South Bend mayor.

“Did you just ask me if black lives matter?” Buttigieg responded incredulously.

“Yes, we want to hear you say it!” a female protester shouted from the back.

“Of course black lives matter!” the South Bend mayor stressed.

“Then fire your cops!” a male protester shouted.

“Are you a racist?” someone else shouted.

“What matters about a black life to you, Mayor Pete?” asked another female protester. “Answer that!”

Black residents of South Bend unload on Mayor Pete Buttigieg

A town hall featuring Mayor Pete Buttigieg broke into near chaos Sunday afternoon as the Democratic presidential candidate tried to respond to community concerns over a white police officer killing a black man in the city.

Buttigieg was solemn, somber and circumspect as he tried to explain the procedures of how officials will review the shooting, while saying that he didn’t want to prejudice the investigation. He also said he would ask the Justice Department to review the case and for an independent prosecutor to decide whether to prosecute.

“We’ve taken a lot of steps, but they clearly haven’t been enough,” said Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind.

The largely black audience of hundreds was having none of it. “We don’t trust you!” a woman hollered at the mayor.

Until now, Buttigieg had enjoyed a charmed and improbable role in the presidential primary as the mayor of a Rust Belt city whose population barely tops 100,000, a 37-year-old in a field dominated by two 70-somethings.

Former congressman Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) announced Sunday that he is running for president, joining 23 earlier entrants in the presidential race.

Sestak served two terms in the House, from 2007 to 2011. A retired Navy admiral, he also pursued two unsuccessful bids for the Senate, each time drawing the ire of national Democrats, who chafed at Sestak’s go-it-alone style and quirky personality.

Sestak’s late entry comes with disadvantages: The first Democratic debates are this week, and the Pennsylvania Democrat will not be on the stage. According to the Democratic National Committee, deadlines for donations and polling are on midnight on July 16, and campaigns have until the morning of July 17 to provide certification.

Elizabeth Warren Demands Reparations for Same-Sex Couples

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, introduced a bill to extend the idea of reparations to LGBT people.

While far more limited in scope than frequent calls for slavery reparations to black Americans, the proposal blames the U.S. government for withholding benefits same-sex couples

Warren re-introduced S. 1940, the Refund Equality Act, which would allow same-sex couples to amend past tax returns. According to a report from the Joint Committee on Taxation, the bill would direct $57 million in refunds. The funds would go to same-sex couples in states that had legalized same-sex marriage before the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013. Warren introduced an earlier version of the bill in 2017.

"The federal government forced legally married same-sex couples in Massachusetts to file as individuals and pay more in taxes for almost a decade," Warren said in a statement on the legislation. "We need to call out that discrimination and to make it right — Congress should pass the Refund Equality Act immediately."

"It wasn’t until marriage equality became law that gay & lesbian couples could jointly file tax returns—so they paid more in taxes," Warren tweeted Saturday. "Our government owes them more than $50M for the years our discriminatory tax code left them out. We must right these wrongs."

I also didn't read much about his firing the black police chief favoring white officers or that the PD was 90% white. I don't know if liberal rags are covering for him or what, but it is amazing the **** that gets left out. It all depends on who reports it.

In fairness, I can't really say much about a PD being 90% white. You'd like it to match the community makeup, and see more minority officers in their communities. Not sure how much of a difference it would make, but at least maybe people would trust an officer that looks like them. It couldn't hurt.

In my opinion, you have to be crazy to want to be a police officer these days. Half the country hates you until they need you, and even then they are just as likely to make your job harder if not outright injure or kill you.

I am undecided on watching these Dim debates. First of all, it’s a yuge waste of time and their policies are stomach turning. But it would be fun to watch retards punch each other. Maybe I’ll tune in for some laughs, IDK. I do know that I will be front and center to watch Trump curb stomp whichever one of these idiots gets the nomination. That’s where the real fun is.

I would tune in, but this is the part that typically turns me away...when someone like Fauxcahauntas says we should pay reparations to homosexuals and the camera pans to the audience and I see every day people (or the paid actors they are employing) rowdily applauding for these "Let's Kill America" proposals.
