The issue the dems have with WV is like 80% want Kavanaugh and the dem senator more or less has to vote for him or lose his seat... its a catch 22... they need him to win his seat to get the majority and they need his vote to keep Kavanaugh out

President Trump went after Democrats Saturday night at a rally in West Virginia, a state whose Democratic senator could be a crucial swing vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Mr. Trump targeted West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, calling him "Washington Liberal Joe" and linking him to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters.

In fact...there used to be a running "joke" amongst the Mill Hunkies in Pittsburgh back in the day, that fathers would take their teenage sons to Wheeling as a right of manhood...
I'm sure, this "joke" is no longer practiced...oops I mean told .....due to political correctness and such things...

More like the mills have been shut down for 30 years, everyone is too poor to buy hookers for their kids and so tradition ends
For the same reason there aren't nearly as many kids here as there used to be. I live in the mill town where I grew up, I graduated high school in 1978 in a class of about 210 and today the same school graduates less than 50 every year.
These days the hot spot, so to speak, are all the Asian massage parlors in Warren, OH. So I hear.

Yeah I'm very familiar with Wheeling. Nothing like that around there any more. Same thing goes for me Ron. Coal and steel towns all around here that have all but dried up. When my parents went to the school I currently work in, there were 300 kids per grade.....when I went there, it was 150 a grade.....now the classes are all between 80 and 90.

ayep, my H.S. doesn't even have a football team anymore, and they consolidated with other small schools, it's a sad thing

Unlike Congress, that can't seem to walk and chew gum at the same time, the Executive Branch under Trump is getting things done on about 5-10 different fronts. So refreshing to see what happens when you don't have a career politician running on "Senate Time" like Obama did and a bunch of nothing getting done.
I could care less how many times he golfs, he's got departments getting things done all over the ******* place (and he's campaigning!).
I went to high school in a tiny little 2 stop light town in WV. Not coal mining country or the steel mills. Wheeling is "northern" panhandle, I grew up in the "eastern" panhandle (1.5 hours from DC). Rural area. My graduating class was 100 kids. The school is growing slightly.
I moved to the DC area. My kids' hs has 2000+ kids. If you go out in a radius of just 6 miles, Seneca Valley, Wootton, and Gaithersburg high schools are all the same size - 4 high schools with 2000 students each in a 6 mile radius (crazy for small town me). Move closer to DC the schools get bigger generally and are closer together. It's crazy.
