Speaking of climate change, was watching a documentary last night about some of the worst volcanic eruptions in recorded history. Anyways, Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted in 1991, spewed millions of tons of sulfur dioxide into the air and went up 22 miles into the atmosphere and cooled the planet's temperature for the next 15 months. That's just one example. I think if AOC and the others really want to do something about climate change, they're going to have to put a lid on these mountains somehow so they don't erupt (being facetious).

Man-made emissions are small potatoes compared to these cataclysmic events. Now I'm all for recycling and not being a slob (our trash/waste disposal issue is pretty bad), but this Green New Deal **** and the world ending in 12 years is the most ridiculous **** I've ever heard of. Anybody in the media call them out on this nonsense? Please tell me someone has.

If Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has his way, alongside Katzrin, Ramot and Ramat Magshimim on the Golan Heights, there may someday soon be a community named Kiryat Trump.

Netanyahu, who on Tuesday toured the Golan with his wife and sons, said a community or neighborhood on the Golan Heights should be named after US President Donald Trump in appreciation for his decision last month to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the strategic plateau.

The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.

In one stunning finding, the subcommittee said OneVoice even told the State Department’s top diplomat in Jerusalem of its plans in an email, but the official, Consul General Michael Ratney, claims never to have seen them.

The U.S. economy grew at a 3.2 percent annual rate in the first three months of 2019 — beating Wall Street’s expectations of 2.5 percent growth — according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Yeah, that is freaking awesome. The original projection was a mere 2.2% growth (something that would make Bammy orgasm with glee, but, well, you know ....), revised to 2.5%, and I heard word a couple of weeks ago that the incredibly low jobless rate and increasing median income suggested to a lot of experts that the growth would be better than the projected 2.5%.

Turns out to be the case. And the good news is that the Fed has no reason to douse this expansion, as the inflation rate is below 2.0%.

Saw this on news this morning. How is it legal or ethical to blatantly attack a sitting president of the US and his family without any evidence of wrong doing ? I would think that in turn it would be fine to have the Feds turn this AG's live upside down in return...no?

Incoming New York attorney general plans wide-ranging investigations of Trump and family

New York Attorney Gen.-elect Letitia James says she plans to launch sweeping investigations into President Donald Trump, his family and "anyone" in his circle who may have violated the law once she settles into her new job next month.

"We will use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions and that of his family as well," James, a Democrat, told NBC News in her first extensive interview since she was elected last month.

James outlined some of the probes she intends to pursue with regard to the president, his businesses and his family members. They include:

Any potential illegalities involving Trump's real estate holdings in New York, highlighting a New York Times investigation published in October into the president's finances.
The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian official.
Examine government subsidies Trump received, which were also the subject of Times investigative work.
Whether he is in violation of the emoluments clause in the U.S. Constitution through his New York businesses.
Continue to probe the Trump Foundation.

"We want to investigate anyone in his orbit who has, in fact, violated the law," said James, who was endorsed by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

James campaigned on passing a bill to change New York's double jeopardy laws with an eye on possible pardons coming out of the White House. James told NBC News she wants to be able to pursue state charges against anyone the president were to pardon over federal charges or convictions and whose alleged crimes took place in the state. Under current New York law, she might not be able to do that.
