As a former truck driver, I want to point out that many good drivers were immigrants. But, speaking the language is super important for issues of inspections, weigh stations, and general legal matters in the day to day workings of driving.

Keep the license, learn the language. It's not really hard. Moving to ASSIMILATE into a new culture requires a bit of extra effort. It will be worth it.

This idea is really stupid. Enough legit drivers think it is a good thing? No way. It's just bad to take it out of the hands of a legit agent of choice. Not a computer.

Do we know they can't speak / read any English or is that just assumed? If the language is important then see if they can pass a basic English competency test. What happens when their licenses are not renewed? I would think they could get unemployment and become a bigger burden on society. I just think as far as problems with immigrants or society in general these drivers are thee least of our worries

Well, if I had to choose, I’d rather have a secretary of defense that’s a little overly passionate in his critical position, that he obviously takes very seriously….
Than a president, vice president and a department of homeland security lie to our faces for four years about securing our nation at our borders..
So as soon as we prosecute them for not providing America the needed and required safety and security at our borders, then we could have a “conversation”… as the liberals like to say, regarding secretary Hegseths choice of words..
In my opinion… words are hollow, but actions, or lack of actions , speak volumes..

Actually it went bad four years earlier when Trump won an election and the Left and the Washington Establishment lost their ****.
 
Just look at the CA elections, most of the elections in New England, and the tragedy in Colorado to see stolen elections.

As far as I know immigrants driving semis and causing accidents is not an issue. I would be more worried about them using the trucks for trafficking. These people will just be losing their CDL and will still be out driving anyways. They also had to pass drivers tests at some point. These drivers are making a living legally and I just think there are much bigger fish to fry at this point

WTF? TELL the families of the people they killed that it's not an issue. They are not driving legally, THEY ARE HERE ILLEGALLY.

Immigration agents have arrested yet another illegal migrant truck driver accused of causing a horrific accident on U.S. roadways.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents took custody of Sukhdev Singh, an Indian national living unlawfully in the U.S., earlier in March after he allegedly caused a traffic accident that left a U.S. citizen hospitalized and in critical condition, the Daily Caller News Foundation has exclusively learned. Singh had obtained a Commercial Driver’s License in New York before crashing a big rig in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“It is common sense: illegal aliens should not be operating 18-wheelers on American highways. We are praying this individual makes a full recovery,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement provided to the DCNF.


“It is incredibly dangerous for illegal aliens, who often don’t know our traffic laws or even English, to be operating 18-wheelers on America’s roads,” Bis continued. “Sanctuary governors like Kathy Hochul must stop giving illegal aliens driver’s license before even more Americans get injured or killed.”
