Protests in Iran prove Trump is getting it right

“What the regime feared most is happening,” Alinejad tells me. “Tehran had stayed calm as nationwide protests at the beginning of the year engulfed 80 cities.

Now an impromptu protest in Tehran by merchants against economic mismanagement has turned into a massive anti-regime event, with chants of death to dictator and death to Palestine.”

Tehran’s grand bazaar was shut down Monday as merchants joined street protests and thousands defied thuggish regime riot police trying to quell the rebellion. Other big cities joined Tehran as well.

Protesters carried signs like “Leave Syria alone, think of us.” Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and the Houthis — all proxy arms of the Islamic Republic’s strategy of spreading its version of the “Islamic revolution” across the region — weren’t spared protesters’ ire either.

While calling for increased border security and re-upping his promise for the border wall, he criticized congressional Democrats as the source of illegal immigration issues.

"Democrats, they want open borders and they don't mind crime," he said, calling it "the party of Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi."

US freezes Palestinian aid funding

The U.S. has reportedly suspended aid to the Palestinian Authority amid ongoing Middle East peace talks.

U.S. froze funding as part of the Taylor Force Act, which requires Palestinian officials to end payments to terrorist groups and take steps to stop those groups’ behavior.

The report comes after White House senior adviser Jared Kushner told Arabic language newspaper Al Quds that the Trump administration’s plan to broker peace between Israelis and Palestinians will be published soon.

Kushner expressed frustration with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and said the plan would go forward regardless of his participation.

“The global community is getting frustrated with Palestinian leadership and not seeing many actions that are constructive toward achieving peace,” he said, according to an Associated Press report of the interview.

“If President Abbas is willing to come back to the table, we are ready to engage,” Kushner added. “If he is not, we will likely air the plan publicly.”

Supreme Court Hands Trump The Power To Fire Thousands Of Judges

The U.S. Supreme Court expanded presidential control over pivotal jobs in federal agencies, ruling that the way the Securities and Exchange Commission selected its in-house judges to enforce investor-protection laws was improper.

In a 7-2 ruling, the justices overturned a lower court ruling that had endorsed the SEC’s in-house judge hiring practice that operated autonomously from the president.

The ruling could reverberate through the federal government, which has nearly 2,000 administrative law judges deciding matters as varied as unfair trade practices, veterans benefits and patent infringement. Such a ruling could also make it easier for some of these judges to be fired by political appointees.

This is comical to me.

I remember all the grief the left gave Reagan for eliminating the tariffs on steel and "killing the steel industry".
Yes, magically democrats are now indignant free traders.

Trump is in a unique position where the democrats will literally take the opposite position of anything he does, so he could easily do a head fake and really embarrass them. I would love that. If he could somehow get them arguing for free-market capitalism, that would be hilarious.

LOL, wrong again. I watch every Trump speech at his drooling-from-the-mouth, bat **** crazy rallies that I can. I also watch every Huckabee Sanders presser that I can. I get my Trump news from the horse's mouth. I don't need to read articles or watch the news to gauge what a gigantic dipshit Trump is. Just need to listen to him and his cabinet spell it out in plain English.

lol...funny you said that...because from your safe space in Hungary we are able to gauge what a giant dipshit you really are. Like the typical liberal you offer no substantive arguments...you hate Trump just because.

I suggest following IranWire on Twitter. There have been more protests going on the last 6 months than are being reported. Much of it started when that woman climbed a light post or something and took off her hijab awhile back.

American money flowing back into America
By Suzanne O'HalloranPublished June 26, 2018Business LeadersFOXBusiness

Despite President Trump's tit-for-tat trade barbs, America’s CEOs are not wasting anytime in taking advantage of his tax reform plan. Over $300 billion was repatriated to the U.S. in the first quarter, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) -- the most on record.

“U.S. firms that used to build their factories overseas in order to avoid U.S. taxes, they stopped in their tracks because of the tax bill, they are bringing all the money home,” said Kevin Hassett, chair of the president's Council of Economic Advisers, during an interview on FOX Business’ Varney & Co. in June.

President Donald Trump Celebrates ‘Vindication’ with Supreme Court Ruling on Travel Ban

President Donald Trump reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court affirming the constitutionality of his order to restrict travel from eight foreign countries. “Today’s Supreme Court ruling is a tremendous victory for the American People and the Constitution,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House on Tuesday.

“The Supreme Court has upheld the clear authority of the President to defend the national security of the United States.”

The president also commented on the ruling to reporters as members of Congress met with the president at the White House.

“The ruling shows that all of the attacks from the media and the Democrat politicians are wrong, and they turned out to be very wrong,” he said.

Funny thing is, I’ve not heard any reports about ISIS for a long, long time...

Did something happen?

ISIS is alive in Afghanistan. Not sure how well they are. I know they are causing some trouble over there, but from what I understand it is small splinter groups that are mostly disorganized.

The ideology that spawned ISIS is not going away anytime soon. We have to play whack-a-mole with them.

The bigger problem in the Muslim world right now is Turkey. Erdogan, freshly elected, has his eyes on becoming the next caliph of a reconstructed Ottoman Empire, and is forming the relationships necessary..........namely Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. I don't know if we can trust them anymore.

Trump backed candidates win in South Carolina and New York

President Trump had more reasons to celebrate Tuesday night. The two candidates he had endorsed won their primaries, in a show of the influence the President has with GOP voters.

Gov. Henry McMaster's victory against businessman John Warren in the Republican gubernatorial runoff came the day after the President traveled to South Carolina to campaign for him.

McMaster got the job because Trump named former Gov. Nikki Haley his ambassador to the United Nations. And McMaster was one of Trump's earliest strong supporters within the party.

His victory showed the power of Trump's endorsement with GOP voters. It was the first of two major tests of the President's influence of the night.

Trump's endorsement also paid off Tuesday in New York, where CNN projects Donovan has held off a Republican primary challenge from former Rep. Michael Grimm.

Truth. There are only 5 countries meeting the 2% of GDP threshold. US, UK, Estonia, Poland and Greece. Estonia, Poland and Greece. Think about that. Greece is broke, yet they can meet the threshold. I have traveled to Poland twice, and they live in shanty's. Yet, they meet the 2%. However, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Turkey all do not, because they run ******* welfare states and have prioritized that over defense. Cut 'em loose and let them deal with their own problems. Lord knows, we have enough of our own to deal with.

US Supreme Court deals blow to labor unions, ruling 5-4 that public sector unions may not collect mandatory fees from non-members

The Supreme Court has upended a decades-old precedent that allowed unions to collect fees from government employees, including those who were not actually part of the union.

The justices rules 5-4 that public sector unions may not collect mandatory fees from non-members.

Mark Janus, employed at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, set the ball in motion when he sued because he didn’t want a certain fee deducted from his paycheck to go toward a union just because he worked for the state. His lawyers argued the payment could violate First Amendment rights if someone is forced to pay a fee to an organization with different views than he or she holds.

Janus has said he pays about $550 per year to the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

The court had to decide to override its 1977 decision in Abood v. Detroit Board of Education. In that case, it held that school teachers should pay unions as long as the money goes toward collective bargaining and other such issues -- not ideological causes.

AFSCME President Lee Saunders had argued that strong labor unions are needed because they give “the strength in numbers [workers] need to fight for the freedoms they deserve,” including retirement plans and health care.

The high court heard a similar case in 2016, but the death of Justice Antonin Scalia meant the case ended in a 4-4 decision, Reuters reported.

Private sector workforce is 7% unionized. Government workforce is 53% unionized. The government must be a horrible place to work.
