You say "we have nothing to show for it" but that's not true. From 2 years ago to today it IS better. The level of tension in the region is considerably less. Isn't that something "tangible"? Two years ago, NK was launching missiles into Japanese air space (or damn close to it). NK has supposedly shut down a missile testing site that was confirmed with satellite images. That's a "tangible" difference to the people that live in Seoul and Northern Japan.

You ask for the world and when you don't get it you ***** and moan. "He's not getting anything done". Your support of Mr. Do-Nothing Obama compared to your hatred of Mr. Trump has nothing to do with "how much they get done" because your opinions are based in bias and not reality.

I think the current administration shares your view on the matter 100%, Tibs. Right now, the sanctions remain in place. Trump is giving Un some public relations mileage, which risks nothing, hoping to leverage that into something concrete.

And of course we don't trust the NK's. Un and his lineage have lied for years about their arms buildup. We know that. But what Trump is doing is moving the ball. Sanctions and threats of sanctions have lead to where we are. NK has to enter the 21st ... hell, the 20th century. Getting Un to move one step at a time matters.

Finally, the talks did yield something positive, even if minor. NK is no longer sending ballistic missiles over Japan. That is something.

North Korea has NOT:
-Eliminated a single nuclear weapon
-Eliminated any missiles

North Korea HAS:
-Increased nuclear fuel
-Hidden its missile bases

And this article goes further, that Trump may be tip-toeing towards a nuclear freeze with NK, allowing them to keep all their current nukes. That's exactly the opposite of what US foreign policy has been since the beginning. So that's how we're gonna declare victory here? Simply lower the expectations dramatically and say we've met the mark?
