Once again, President Trump has flaunted his scorn for the media-defined norms of the American political conversation. Under those informal rules, Republicans can be labeled racists with impunity and America can be trashed as irredeemably racist, evil, and shameful. But any criticism of “people of color” for expressing such views is racist, as Nancy Pelosi discovered so recently.

Many Republicans have internalized these norms, knowing that their colleagues in professions dominated by an educated and credentialed workforce have scorn for Trump’s attacks on the four freshman congresswomen Nancy Pelosi ruefully dubbed “The Squad.” Their neighbors in upscale communities are equally likely to be “aghast” that anyone would mention that people who frequently proclaim a racial and ethnic identity that sets them apart from just plain Americans would be reminded that, unlike Communist East Germany for instance, they are free to leave. And they can come back after showing how well their ideas work in places they imply America has impoverished and oppressed.

President Trump has, from the beginning of his campaign, cared not a whit about the criticism he receives for violating those norms. He believes that those rules of the game slant the conversation toward victories for the Left, eagerly enforced by the Mainstream Media, academia, and the cultural institutions dominated by progressives.

He also knows that people who already believe him to be a vulgar, racist, unacceptable “occupant of the White House” (as Ilham Omar called him yesterday, unwilling to concede that he is a lawfully-elected president) will criticize anything he says. So, there is no loss to him in provoking that camp.

Imagine being a “conservative” who spent all day sanctimoniously defending Ilhan Omar’s virtue and courage and contributions to American democracy, only to have her hold a press conference where she refused to denounce Al Qaeda and Islamic terrorism.

By attacking The Squad, just as Nancy Pelosi and the Dem Establishment were putting distance between themselves and the radicals, Trump has forced them back together and made The Squad the public face of the Democrats.

The decision came after the California Democrat gave an impassioned speech about tweets by Trump she called "racist."

The chairman at the time, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, reprimanded her for the "personality-based" attack before "abandoning the chair."

Senate confirms Trump's 43rd circuit court nominee

The Senate confirmed President Trump’s 43rd circuit court nominee Tuesday, far outpacing his predecessor who only saw 19 federal appeals court judges appointed during the same period of time.

The confirmation of Judge Peter Phipps to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals also puts the president ahead of President George W. Bush, who saw just 30 appeals court judges appointed in his first two and a half years in office.

The Senate voted 56 to 40 to confirm Judge Phipps, making him the fourth Trump appointed judge to the 3rd Circuit, which hears appeals from Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands. Only three Democrats, Sen. Doug Jones, Sen. Joe Manchin and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, joined the GOP supporting Phipps.

Mr. Trump flipped the 3rd U.S. Circuit to a majority of GOP-appointed active judges in March.

Since the president’s inauguration, Mr. Trump has appointed a total of 128 federal judges including two to the Supreme Court, 43 to federal circuit courts and 83 judges to district courts.

Gotta say, seeing all the recent images of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson cozying up to Trump in the past, and this image here, this doesn't strike me as a racist man.

A little story I caught a few months ago, Trump donated $10,000 to a black transit bus driver who helped a woman who was going to jump off an overpass to end her life because he considered him a working-class hero apparently. Again, not the actions of a racist man. This might have been many years ago but I just heard about it not too long ago. If I can find the link or any video on it I will post it.

Golly, I wish we had a candidate who could put thoughts together in a way that rallies Americans around a great vision. I guess we'll settle for this guy.

Trump’s An Island In The Democrats’ Culture Stream

Another day, week, month, year of “can you believe what Trump said?” Another news cycle trying to convince those who don’t already despise the president that THIS time it’s different because THIS time he’s gone too far.

“He’s violating the standards of decency! He’s a global embarrassment! He’s a poor role model for our children!” Yep, we’ve heard it all. It’s almost getting boring to say it, but let’s try it again. Donald Trump didn’t happen in a vacuum. He happened as a response, a response to the norm-breaking, divisive, anti-American left-wing culture and party who set today’s politics in motion.

Not only is liberalism not a dirty word with younger Democrats, socialism isn’t either. Will Marxism and Communism be praised out loud any time soon? That’s where Democrats seem to be headed. That’s what they are taught in college. Individualism and free market capitalism are dirty words.

The new left is open about its hatred for the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. It’s not just the “racist, privileged’ white men behind it, it’s what those men created. Breaking away from centralized power and oppression is the nation’s original, founding sin. A nation of free-thinking, self-interested individuals couldn’t be worse for authoritarian aspirations.

Throw in free speech while we’re at it. Political correctness — the left’s war on free speech — is central to the culture of the new left. Speak like us, think like us, or else.

Sure, they’ll call Donald Trump and his voters racist. But they’re no longer content to stop there. They’re willing to slander their own, too. Anyone who doesn’t openly buy into totalitarian politics (bussing, destruction of private health insurance, etc.) is treated no different than President Trump and his supporters. Isn’t that right, Speaker Pelosi and Vice President Biden?

If politics is downstream from culture, then the Democrat Party’s politics are hip deep with totalitarian ideas and intentions.Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden sure don’t appear to have a seat in the life raft floating downstream of the modern left’s new culture.

Don’t tell me Donald Trump’s tweet is more jarring to the national conscience than the behavior and speech of those to whom the tweet was directed. The Democrats have been swallowed by a loud, disruptive, destructive, unapologetic totalitarian ideology.

That’s the culture of which the Democrats are downstream. Donald Trump is saving the rest of us from drowning with them.
