Some good reads..

now with regards to our slot WR that is somewhat up in the air who will man the spot.

Wheaton and Coates will be switched in and outside in camp IMO as they try to figure out who fits where the best.....

perhaps rotating in AB and DHB


maybe Rogers gets a look as well...........
 
Wheaton can play the slot or outside well.

Coates is more of an outside the hash marks type who needs work on routes. We'll see if he has developed.
 
Always wondered how much the CFL football that has played with one back and five receivers for as long as I can remember has influenced this. In that game the top receivers are almost always slots. Even the best WR get moved to the slot to open up their coverage expanding route options. And it seems that with FF growth the NFL liked it and pushed the rules against the defense to massage the result that we see now with 30 point outputs routinely.
 
Rogers and Ayers are the wild cards. Rogers has the ability and knowledge of the system. Ayers is built for the slot with his quickness and size.
