The Pittsburgh Steelers just braved an embarrassing 30-7 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. It was a game in which star running back Christian McCaffery carved up the Steelers defense for 152 rushing yards and a touchdown. Pittsburgh's run defense was one of their biggest downfalls during the game, especially when veteran Cam Heyward went down with an injury early in the game. It's obvious the Steelers might look for a trade partner to acquire a cornerstone on the defensive line, or they might test the waters in free agency to find some depth.

I wonder if J.J. Watt may be worth making a call to? Had 12-1/2 sacks last year for the Cards and is not under any contract obligation to them. If he’s interested playing with TJ this would be a nice addition to to the DL to soften the loss of Cam.

Everyone is pushing JJ, but it really is not likely to happen… money would have to be way too high…

Guy said he is retired and happy being retired. They can push that agenda but I don't see him returning.

Seriously? Two weeks ago the narrative was the Steelers were so deep on D-Line that they should be able to trade a couple D Linemen who wouldn't make the roster before cut downs. Now one game and one injury (admittedly to their best D Lineman) and they're suddenly desperate for some help on D Line? Sounds like that quality depth everyone was talking about pre-cutdowns was a myth.

Nah its the media doing media things
Noah Strickbum over at SI has been pushing for them to magically sign the retired JJ watt or trade for Aaron Donald or Chase Young all preseason… this gives him and those like him that want a famous name studded lineup an opening to push the narrative again…
