The Vegas pointspread has me scared to death

I sure hope James does well and gets 2 or even 4 sacks in this game. The Jets are a dangerous team that has been having problems with turn overs and that is likely what has been costing them games. I hope they do not get it fixed till next week and continue their loosing ways. The offensive line will need to have their A game ready for this one and Ben will need to be quick with his passes. Byrant will need to really be on his hot reads this week as he will likely be targeted after last weeks performance that gave up a sack. We really need special teams to not give up any easy scores and the defense to not allow vick to run for one on them.

The line is now 3.5, so money is coming in on the Jets.

Bottom line. If we don't man-handle the Jets and beat them like a red-headed stepchild, then the past 2 weeks won't mean ****. We have to prove we are that good or better from this point forward. I am cautious to buy my playoff tickets until we serve up a giant can of whoop *** on a sorry *** team. Please let this be the week. I am fearful of a Percy Harvin coming out party at our DBs expense.

The Jets actually have some talent in the trenches. They're just really bad at QB and in the secondary.

The Steelers' pass protection and run defense will be tested.

They've faced some pretty good guys in the trenches in recent weeks. The secondary is the matchup that Haley and the offense should be able to shread if they can keep up what they've done over the past few weeks.

Been around these parts for many a moons....the Steelers always struggle with Michael Vick. Always! Additionally the Jets strength is the DL. Teams with good DL's give good QB's problems. This game will be very difficult. If we were at Heinz I would feel much more comfortable. We need to get up early and limit turnovers. With no turnovers I think we win this game.

We have a hefty injury report for the D and are on the road vs. a team that not only is a bottom feeder (we've played down to them the last few years) but is also a team that usually keeps within a score of us. The line should've opened at 3 given the recent past match ups.

The Jets are top five in sacks and rushing offense.

There are ways the Steelers can lose this game, but as long as Roethlisberger doesn't get sacked a ton of times and they don't allow the Jets to rush for around 150 yards and control the clock, the Steelers should win easily.

Given the type of games they've lost or really struggled in in recent years, these next two games will be a determinate of whether the franchise has truly turned the corner, or whether it's more of the same under Tomlin.

YEP...stayed away from this one...very shaky line indeed...

I like the Chiefs and the Falcons ATS today.

Agreed. The next two weeks are an excellent barometer of the future of this franchise.

I think we all are a little antsy over this team. They traditionally play to a lower level when favored and the spread went from 6 to 4.5 this week so the money is nervous too. I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised with the 'new' level of play and hope they keep it up.

Funny how sports, well for us the Steelers, can get everyone tied up emotionally. If they play well, it will be 3 hours of enjoyable entertainment. If not I have other things I can do today that I can control.
All any of us can do is sit back, relax, and see what unfolds. Hoping for a W, but either way I'm guessing most of us will still have to get up and go to work tomorrow morning.

Of course all of this is BS if you have money invested in this game.

It's ironic that it's come to this. Games against the 1-8 Jets and 2-6 Titans will define the Steelers' future...normally, it's the stretches versus the good/great teams which act as the barometer.

As I said the bookies always bet the trend until it changes. Our trend is to play into these trap games.

I am thinking the direction of the franchise is "down", as we suspected

17-0

It's really not that surprising, is it?

I enjoyed the wins against the Colts and Ravens independently for what they were worth. Now it's back to reality.

They don't have all those large pretty shiny buildings in Vegas because they are inept.

They do, however, have the luxury of not seeing things with blinders on, which many homer fans struggle with.

Don't look now, but the Steelers are 5 point favorites over the Titans.

So we'll lose by a field goal. Makes sense to me.
Like the Jets game by kickoff it will be down to 3 points with the bookies again begging for money on the Steelers. Will Shazier and Polamalu play? If so and the points stay at 5 it could be tempting. And to think I passed on a straight up win by the Jets last week thinking "no, this will not be another Tomlin folly, Ben is going to torch the Jets secondary".
Somebody please kick me!
