The D that played today earned another start next week. They way outplayed the guys who got us to 1-4.

The problem is consistency with this HC. We all know he can coach up a team with its back to the wall. They do not handle success well. It would not surprise me at all if the same defensive unit looked like a bunch of bumbling idiots next week..

I honestly have no idea how the D beat Marsha and Fournette today. Loudermilk has to get a hat every week. Even Wormley played well against the run. He just sucks rushing the passer. But we lost Pierre in the 2nd half and they still held up against Marsha. Those dudes in the secondary earned another shot next week.
They did pretty good. Edmunds came through. Miles Jack appeared wobbly before finally going out. Gonna be thin on defense
No. Fine job today but this was a win due to the defensive game plan...
I'll say this now (and write it down) - we better find a way to bring Edmunds back next season.

The defense balled out today, but Brady was bad. Worst accuracy I’ve ever seen when playing the Steelers.
Well we made him uncomfortable in the pocket early, and he hates feeling like that, he lost confidence in his OLine, and maybe he's finally on the decline

Tomlin in his presser stated that basically they dumbed it down for them.
Maybe they need to dumb it down for the "starters" as they obviously don't get it.

Tomlin ... in the moment ... fails to realize yet again that vanilla play calling is superior to what he and Austin can muster. I spend the whole game wishing Canada exchanged his playbook for Offensive Playing calling for dummies.
It is no joke. Vanilla works better than what our coaches do. See preseason vs regular season too.
So do you think they dumbed it down against the Bengals in Game 1???

Pierre, Jackson and Wilson certainly looked like they wanted to be there more than some of our starters. Played pretty solid.
I also remember when we put Pierre on an island for numerous games in previous years and then relegated him to the doghouse because he got beat when the D coordinator and Head Coach refused to give him help over the top. Our coaches suck. And they are a bane on development for players that aren't just naturally super stars.
I would like to see more from Pierre, Jackson and Wilson.

No, I think they had Minkah at the top of his game and all-world TJ Watt. And Heyward literally gave a years' worth of effort in one game. And we still almost blew it.
You're making excuses that we were at full strength and won a game that the WHOLE WORLD said we'd lose.
Again, the defensive scheme was not at all dumbed down and Burrow will admit that to you every time you ask him. He was dazed and confused...
Had Marsha not gone to get an exotic pee pee pull last on Friday night - maybe be would have played better? THANK YOU KRAFT!!!
Who knew basic blocking and tackling won games? Heyward had to have hands in this turn-around, where has this defensive effort been this year? Kudos for whatever happened this week, great to see a spark in them.

Haha, I am not making excuses for anything. Also not trying to be right about anything. Also, to be clear, I was the one that said a couple weeks back that the path was to win 2 of the 4 left and we could be "in it" (whatever "in it" means with our coaching issues). And the first week, for me, just like this week, I always think the Steelers will win. Because I am a total homer once game time comes. So, if the WHOLE WORLD thought it, I am probably from another world. But I am also not blind to the issues just because I want or believe the Steelers will win.
It feels like you are seeking affirmation for something. You can't seek it from me because whatever is in your craw didn't come from me. And, yes, I said they didn't dumb it down. But they weren't saved by great calls on the D side, they were saved by some all-world players and a lot of heart in that game.
