They earned another start

So here is the thing, one of the knocks on us is that we telegraph our plays by personnel formation … we are simply easy to read if you study film… look at some of our best defensive plays this year.. Mincah even said on his pick six to start the year he did something different than the typical responsibility on that play…

On a day like today we aren’t as easy to read because you don’t know how to recognize what we are probably trying to do pre snap…

The Steelers have "dumbed things" down in the past and it worked. Do it now. For years now, these guys obviously aren't learning what the coaches are putting down. Let them play football. Go out there and f'ing hit someone. Go get the damn ball. And, f'ing tackle!

Juju said he learned more in a couple months in KC than he ever learned here. If true, how can it be dumbed down more than that?

Yea. For a practice squad guy he played better than I expected.

Did anyone else think Josh Jackson played a terrific game?
I really liked also what I saw from Pierre. I wouldn't mind them keeping Jackson around longer on the roster even with a return of health of well pretty much the entire secondary.

Meh sometimes young players look good until they get some tape on them… ill hold out my decisions on these guys till i see more… as for Pierre… here is a neat concept… young guys can improve over time… if the league finds flaws in a guy’s game, sometimes that guy works on them and gets better… its a thing, which is why you shouldn’t doghouse them super quickly

You're making excuses that we were at full strength and won a game that the WHOLE WORLD said we'd lose.
That's bullshit. The Steelers were 6.5 point underdogs in that game, and Cincinnati was about -300 on the money line. The "WHOLE WORLD" doesn't go all-in on that kind of moderate favorite.

Now the WHOLE WORLD said they'd lose to Buffalo in week five...and the whole world was right.

It feels like you are seeking affirmation for something. You can't seek it from me because whatever is in your craw didn't come from me. And, yes, I said they didn't dumb it down. But they weren't saved by great calls on the D side, they were saved by some all-world players and a lot of heart in that game. But, in any case, if me saying "you're right" will make you feel better than you're right. :)
Bermudasteel seeks affirmation not for himself, but for his boy Tomlin, who's been beaten up so badly around here lately.

You see, dumbing down the defensive game plan this past week for a bunch of backups and/or guys recently signed to the practice squad wasn't simply common sense...but rather some revolutionary, next-level thinking from Head Coach Mike Tomlin.

Although you are nearly right I beg to differ,................... I for one was on the losing side of who would win the STEELERS / Bills game.

Salute the nation

That defense Sunday played as a unit. They played as a team. That was refreshing. Plus, we beat Brady, we beat Brady in Pittsburgh, we were down and the defense as the other two sides of the ball played football, they all deserve playing time.

Seriously on this one. If dumbing down the D worked this past weekend, then they need to do the same thing with our "starters" when they come back. They obviously aren't good enough or don't have the football smarts to be able to handle and "communicate" the hard stuff. We have been hearing about "communication" issues for years now.
