They needed to add designated kickoff roster spot.

Kicker = 20% of the tackles
Other 10 guys = 80% of the tackles

So the kicker will out tackle everyone else on the coverage team?


Odd math on that one....Why would the kicker head down field immediately?

Were these statistics taken from the USFL when they were using this KO method?

I know nothing about the numbers and offer no opinion. However, there is a difference between getting 20% of the tackles and being involved in 20% of the tackles.

On a related note, that reminds me of Ray Lewis who used to get credited with a fair number of tackles where he didn't really get the tackle as much as was loosely involved in the tackle (i.e., was in the stadium or something).

I’ll never forget that he was on the sidelines in street cloths, not sure specific injury.

I read the stat line for that game a couple days later and he was credited with 8 solo.
