I think if you don't give people real chance if you say it's a competition you lose the room. Now if Trubisky was #1 on the depth and was rolling I'd say fine. But nor what we are hearing. Apparently Rudolph has not thrown an INT.
My wife thinks I am a genius because I'm calling the offensive plays before they happen...If you, me and 90% of SN that watches games with regularity can call the plays I’d wager the Defense isn’t having too much trouble with it either:..truth
True but how many worm burners has he thrown???I think if you don't give people real chance if you say it's a competition you lose the room. Now if Trubisky was #1 on the depth and was rolling I'd say fine. But nor what we are hearing. Apparently Rudolph has not thrown an INT.
It is so bad my wife was about 60% accurate last year. I wasn't sure if I should be turned on or mad how bad the calls were.My wife thinks I am a genius because I'm calling the offensive plays before they happen...
Probably many. But from everything being said about both q's I feel they both deserve a shot with the ones in preseason. Don't like the opponent this week but do respect that an undrafted rookie will beat out a 1st round pick if he outplays them over there.True but how many worm burners has he thrown???

Although I agree with you DIC, I don’t think he’ll get canned. I think he’s got at least 1 full year with QB change as “excuse”.
It isn't just that he has a propensity not be able to throw into tight windows consistently. Which is why he could move the ball down the field but not close the deal. In preseason that works well against vanilla defenses. It isn't like Rudy hasn't shown well in preseason before. But that never materializes into consistent production.True but how many worm burners has he thrown???

He has never had a chance to play consistently. He got ko'd as he was playing well originally then was rough while playing after the concussion benched came back played well and got hurt again. He has only had disjointed runs to this point with serious team deficiencies that even Ben couldn't overcome in coaching and the line. Lets give whomever wins a real shot not consistent inconsistency. It isn't just that he has a propensity not be able to throw into tight windows consistently. I know you are right, O'Canada has this year safe. My biggest concern is O'Canada though, I'll even go on record on that but also hope and root for him to prove me wrong and take this offense over the moon.

Wasn't he fully healthy when he laid that egg against the Lions? Or am I not remembering correctly. He has never had a chance to play consistently. He also struggles to throw guys open or play off script. It isn't just that he has a propensity not be able to throw into tight windows consistently. If teams actually game plan install against him the scoring would likely decrease even more given his inability to throw into tight windows and play off script.
He’s ok when everything plays on schedule between the 20s, but shows those
warts in the red zone for sure.
He’s like all the cars I owned way back in HS and college…can move ya from point A to B, usually without breaking down, and looks ok from 50 yards away…but when ya get up real close he ain’t gonna help you score.
He’s a backup/game manager that shows he can get ya through in a pinch if everything else is working in our favor.
You sly dog.HHHahhahaaa I love the "old car" analysis.............................
Back in the day I had this pickup with dual gas tanks. It was a manual valve between them low beside the drivers seat. I have one tank empty and would pull the O'l ran out of gas trick occasionally
Rudoph may pull the ran out of gas thingy but he won't have that second tank to fall back on........................

Yes but the team wasn't and he was not prepped as the starter that week. He didn't really lay an egg in that game the team did. Genius Canada asked a guy who hadn't played all year to throw the ball 50 times and yet he completed 60% and had us in position to win twice. Take away one of two fumbles and the narrative would have been completely different.Wasn't he fully healthy when he laid that egg against the Lions? Or am I not remembering correctly.
Anywho he will get his shot. Preseason is on the doorstep. I am not confident he will emerge victorious but I would root him on like every other Steeler.
Really? Because the play he got ko'd on was him making a great scramble to find the open guy before the illegal hit.He also struggles to throw guys open or play off script.

Dude he really is accept it already. Anyone that can manage to win more than he lost with Fichtner as OC not named named Ben must not be that bad. Not saying he is a star but damn he has proven he can start.ifs buts candy nuts merry Christmas.
dude, he's not a real starter, ******* accept it already.

Franchise QB? who the hell said franchise QB? No he isn't most likely a franchise QB or even a star. That isn't what you said you said starter. He has proven he can be at worst average as a starter. That is a far cry form being a franchise QB. Hell very few teams have Franchise QB's.you're absolutely delusional. he is not a franchise qb, not for the Steelers, not for any of other 31 franchises, either.
I will remind you once again almost all QB look piss poor in their first 16-17 starts. Most don't win that many. Quit trying to judge a guy who hasn't had a real and consistent shot yet. Mitch has and he so far has been found wanting. Neither had good coaching to make judging easier.Rudolph has 5 wins only one was against a winning team. We won despite his piss poor play
. Guy is a POS QB.
Bullshit. Good to great QBs improve and look the part. Rudolph plays like a scared little ***** and has no plus attributes, weak arm, poor pocket presence ,can't go through progressions and no mobility. He also didn't see the field his 1st year so he had more time in the system than the rookies who are thrown into the fireI will remind you once again almost all QB look piss poor in their first 16-17 starts.
