Things that need to be improved in the offseason to go further in next years playoffs

Bear in Mind that its likely that the Browns may be trading Alex Mack and Joe Thomas... Packaging Pouncey with a low pick for them may make sense, if the cap will work... This would give Villenueva a few years to really get that technique down and all but ensure Bens final years are well protected... Thomas is 31, Mack 30... pouncey is only 26. The Browns get the longetivity and stability of an all pro center in his prime. The steelers sacrifice some athleticism at Center for an upgrade at Tackle...

Pouncey would probably retire before letting this happen.

Gradkowski is a good back up QB that we all have forgotten about?

Gradkowski and good should never be used in the same sentence when discussing QB' s.

If Gradkowski can come back then great, he's a solid back up, and that's all you can ask for, how many teams have a QB at back up that is going to go in and play great, game in and game out?

Figure out LT, hopefully resign Foster, the OLine played well. Then we need to fix the secondary, but also to go with that is we need Jones and Dupree to start beating people on a consistent basis so we don't always have to blitz to get pressure, Harrison is our only OLB that wins one on one battles and pressures the QB on a consistent basis. Somewhere in here we need to find a solid 3rd DL, Heyward and Tuitt need to be able to get a breather here and there.

Houston needs a qb. So does dallas. See what you can get for Landry jones.

Gradkowski is probably done for good.... that shoulder injury he was trying to play through was really bad before the finger thing... Im betting he never plays again.

That's what I wonder about. He hurt it in the off-season when the team wasn't even practicing. If you remember he took it easy in spring OTA's then when training camp opened he announced that he wasn't able to play.

There were hardcore rumors that he was just trying to limp through, then the finger injury happened and he was instantly IR'd I will be surprised if he has a steeler uniorm on next year. Landry will be #2... I wouldnt mind another prospect or reclaimation project on the team too, though

Typically.... but a repeat problem tells me a talented backup sure would be a good insurance policy against

a aging RB
a often inured RB

Beachum is coming off a significant injury and was never a prototype LT he should be affordable...

Id love to sign Beachum as a utility OLmen, he would probably make a better guard. But I think he will fetch more $ on open market as a starting LT. Some one will overpay for him.

Will Beachum be ready by next season? Some guys take longer to heal from knee injuries

I really hope we don't pay too much for Beachum. He went down and wasn't missed at all. Exactly as expected. I would expect the same of Foster or Gilbert. Sign him for the price of a mediocre tackle, otherwise, see ya.

Obviously, we need some defensive backs. When Willie Gay is your best DB, you're in deep ****.

Maybe even more, though, is the scheme on defense. We seem to let receivers run wide open on every play, and then tackle them. If a QB isn't completely incompetent and not greedy, he can dink and dunk us all the way to our 5 yard line. That's why Baltimore beat us twice, that's why we gave it up at the end against Cinci and Denver in the playoffs. You can't just hope the other team's QB is a Cleveland Brown and incapable of hitting a wide open receiver 3 downs in a row. Payton Manning is no longer a very good QB, but he's sure as hell capable of that.

I'm also in favor of big fat immovable nose tackles. Put one between Cam ad Tuitt. Let other guys like McClendon rotate in.

I like our linebackers. I think Timmons has been one of the best for a while now. I think Shazier is on the verge of being a star. I think after watching Harrison this year, there's no reason not to keep him for another. Jarvis and Dupree, the jury is still out. Moates and Williams are plenty capable, but clearly not great. So I see 3 very good and 4 pretty good. No need to REACH or WASTE another 1st rounder here.

Any NFL team would love to have Bell and Williams at 1 and 2. It's unfortunate both were hurt for the playoffs.

The Denver game was the game Wheaton really needed to step up and he clearly did not. You could even say he wilted a bit. Maybe he should not automatically be our number 2, or even number 3 receiver next year.

Our kicker is obviously good. We have never had a kicker who makes damn near every field goal and consistently booms kickoffs out of the end zone. Keep him forever.

Our punter is not good. Sign a better one.

For all the Pouncey talk, he isn't going anywhere. His cap hit is too high to cut or trade.

Offense: Bring back all the RB's, WR's. Draft another TE. James looks like he could be good but we still need another to run 2 TE sets when Heath is done. I'd keep the Oline together as much as possible. Draft a developmental QB late, let him, Grad and Landry fight it out in camp/preseason. Send Mike Vick on to do his life's work.

Defense: We need better depth on the Dline. I think we are set at LB but i still want Deebo for one more year. The secondary was our biggest issue on D. We need Gay back and then add some talent through FA and the draft. Im not as down on Blake as most everyone seems to be, but he DOES have coverage issues. He reminds me a little of a younger Will Gay. His tackling issues were due to his injured hand. Blake has shown some ball-hawk skills . . .Id like to see them give him some work as a safety.

Special teams: Bos is a keeper! We can save a good chunk of money by parting ways with Suishium but, FOR THE LOVE ALL THINGS STEELER, bring in another kicker as a camp body! We should bring in some competition for Berry. We need to find a couple of non-AB options with the return game.

Coaching: Bring em all back.

10 and 6 is not backing into the playoffs.

Losing to the number one seed on the road is not a bad loss.

Playing your *** off while missing your number one wide receiver (arguably the best in the league) and your number one and two running back is impressive.
