**** this Govt.

Good thing we don't have a couple of states to rebuild.

They consider Waffle House, with 1700 locations, " small business ".

Texts from my brother in St Pete. Long read. Truncated it some.

Power where we are staying.

We do have power at the house, but we will have to rewire the entire thing except for the mini split air conditioner in the master bedroom (thankfully!- it’s keeping the house reasonable and pulling the humidity out of the exposed wood.

We have a battery of contractors coming the next several days to do quotes and such…

Then have to figure out how to pay for it to get started while we haggle with the insurance.

FEMA is nonexistent in Pinellas’s or Hillsboro.

No adjusters, no tents, no facilities, nothing.

They basically told us to pound sand, they are out of money. Our congresswoman can’t get any answers from the Harris administration. We’ve been told it’s due to threats against FEMA workers

Complete political bullshit.

Thankfully Florida dept of emergency management is all over our basic needs, but they don’t do the debris mitigation funding, emergency/disaster food snap benefits, etc. Harris is blaming it on DeSantis saying he hasn’t done enough to ask for help- even though we were declared a state of disaster PRIOR to the storm to get FEMA positioned into place like any other storm we’ve had in the south for decades….

I don’t know a single person out here regardless of income that has had any contact with FEMA go anywhere.

The $750 check the Harris Biden admin promised is bullshit too.

The online registration just keeps kicking you back to the beginning of the process once you have filled out paperwork.

No FEMA offices in the area- only in Orlando, Gainesville, and Talahassee (ironically the only 3 blue counties in the state…)

They actually shut the one down in st Pete just after hurricane Helene.

It’s ******* absolutely ridiculous that the federal agencies run by this administration are actively blocking aid here for political reasons.

We weren’t getting the emergency authorization to do work in the sewage lift stations by the EPA siting regulatory environmental impact studies…

Apparently they aren’t allowed to work on any bridges or drawbridges that took any form of federal funding until the army Corps of engineers approves the plan(which means environmental studies, DEI/equity quotas, union only labor,

The trash/debris pickup has been limited to only 90 days by FEMA- used to be unlimited, plus they cut the normal budgeting allotment to each municipality to the point the city was only allowed to hire a half dozen trucks.

Our city commission is scrambling to make up for FEMA pulling out, and apparently the state is telling the EPA and OSHA to get off Florida state property if they aren’t going to help.

In 25 years here and many, many hurricanes- I’ve never seen anything like it.

FRMA has always had a huge compound at derby lane dog track and st Pete college.

We weren’t getting the emergency authorization to do work in the sewage lift stations by the EPA siting regulatory environmental impact studies…

If that **** sucking narcissistic ***** ***** wins election because people want to kill their child and orange man bad- when it’s so obvious that socialists don’t care about people- only power- we are doomed.

But plenty of money for Ukraine to be funneled right back here to Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing….

And FEMA has also said they will increase the limits on repairs to houses here so everyone will be considered a flood zone and Ben limited in any renovations- (not repairs, this was intended for people doing additions and such)

Meaning if your house suffers any damage you are limited to only doing 50% of the total value of mitigation and repairs- including possessions- and this is over a 5 year period.

Meant to keep people from buying a little house and building a mansion. Not repairing said little house.

Meaning the federal government -only in bright red Florida - is telling owners that you can only put half of the “assessed value” of your home into repairing damages over a 5 year period.

So if another storm hits- guess what.

You are forced to sell to an out of state developer - likely from bright blue New York or Massachusetts.

It is completely gutting it here and forcing the locals out in lieu of corporate investors.

Just like socialism
You will own nothing and like it.
So vote for the **** sucking *****

Imagine if they told people on California that they could only put half of the value in their home to fix it after an earthquake - but any repairs/additions you did prior count against that.

WE REDID OUR ROOF 6 months ago, it made it no problem, but that counts as hurricane damage assessment against restoration and contents inside the house thanks to the new unelected FEMA rules just put into place in the last 2 weeks( not under orange man bad).

So our policy is all of a sudden severely limited thanks to a political vendetta

I’m just finding most of this out today thanks to a city commission meeting.

They basically said fema pulled out of Florida. Go **** yourself

I don’t even care about the money or reimbursement. The fact they are actively limiting mitigation (until after early November, surely) is insanity.

The same people that bitched because Bush didn’t have FEMA in New Orleans after Katrina in a day are hiding the fact Harris is forcing fema to deny recovery efforts in several red states several weeks later.

The Army corps of engineers and the coast guard shut down the port of Tampa as well in the last couple days. Airing safety concerns- even though the channels weee cleared by the same entities immediately after the storm and shipping was continued without incident. The Harris administration were apparently overruled by the Florida national guard and state officials and told to **** off back to California.

Meaning the administration literally tried to cut off Tampa bay from gas and supplies 3 days after a major storm- while at the same time limiting recovery..

By the way- my voting location is indefinitely closed. As well as most of costal Pinellas and Hillsboro..

Our federal post office has stopped mail delivery (understandable) but has no idea where our mail and packages are going. Including mail in ballots….

Can someone PLEASE COME UP WITH A REASON FOR ANY OF THESE THAT ISNT NEFARIOUS?

And why isn’t any of this on the news.

We saw months of shots of New Orleans back in 2004 on the news when they had to wait 4 days for FEMA.

Is there a legitimate reason this is not on your local news?
Logic….

I must admit the boxed Florida dept of emergency management water isn’t bad. Busy like a bottle of water, I guess. Just feels like you are drinking out of a chicken broth container..

The MRE’s are fairly good too, considering the circumstances.

Don’t heat them on a good counter top. They have a bag that serves as an oven with a chemical reaction to heat up the pouch that gets quite hot.
A fellow refugee did it on my buddies countertop and quite pissed off buddies wife- lol.

Again- all this was state of Florida for both storms.

FEMA was out of money for us gringos.

Another forum that I frequent asked what do you do for a living. More than a few responded with something similar to this......

"30 year fed. Procurement analyst. This particular administration has burned me out with their nonsense initiatives (so-called climate crisis, DEIA, gender bending, etc, etc). Three years until retirement. Can't get here soon enough."

The ideology is embedded in the govt., and all we can do is stick a finger in the dike.

Biden's administration pledges $400 mln military aid package to Ukraine

Story by Daria Dmytriieva
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, during his visit to Kyiv, stated that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $400 million.

"Under the leadership of Joe Biden, the US continues to increase its support for Ukraine. Today, I want to announce a new presidential assistance package worth $400 million," Austin said.

According to him, the new package will include ammunition, military equipment, and weaponry for Ukraine.

Austin arrived in Kyiv today on an unannounced visit. His agenda includes discussions on further assistance to Ukraine, particularly in light of the fact that future aid may depend on the results of the upcoming US presidential election.

US aid to Ukraine

On October 16, US President Joe Biden announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $425 million. The package includes air defense systems, ammunition, armored vehicles, and other critical resources.

Additionally, Ukraine will receive more weaponry, including air defense interceptors, artillery systems, and armored vehicles.

At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the United States would provide Ukraine with a series of military aid packages between October and December, with a total value ranging from $500 million to $750 million.

As Sarge has pointed out at least half a dozen times:

The corrupt, vile, disgusting, loathsome creatures currently infesting the Federal government send billions upon billions of dollars to ****** countries tens of thousands of miles away, ignore Americans who desperately need help through no fault of their own, then get in the way of citizens trying to provide help ...

And we do nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The reasons given to "explain" why it takes so long to count votes in a nationwide election in the United States are ridiculous. Let's visit a few of these reasons:
  • Foreign nations don't have an electoral college. What the ...? How the hell does this matter in counting votes? What a joke.
  • Foreign nations don't have to count votes over different time zones. Again, how does that matter in the least as to why it takes Pennsylvania and Michigan and Arizona - all within one ******* time zone - to count votes?? Another stupid "explanation."
  • Foreign nations don't have to count 160 million votes. Goddamn, another moronic excuse. France counts 29 million votes across a very large area in one night. Pennsylvania has 6.8 million votes, Georgia 4.9 million, and Arizona 3.3 million. France covers 213,000 square miles, Pennsylvania 45,000, Georgia 57,000, and Arizona 113,000.
  • In other words, France and its 29 million votes cover the same land mass and with twice the combined voting population as Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona put together and they can count the votes in one ******* night.
  • So why the supposed delays and foot-dragging by those "battleground" states? Because that is the way they want it. The reason for them wanting the delay is to give certain officials the time needed to figure out how many votes are ... "called for" to achieve a certain outcome.
  • The excuses for slow counting are demonstrable lies to justify the obvious manipulation. Florida fixed its voting after the 2000 election and counts 11 million votes across 65,000 square miles in one night.

See, this is what I don't understand, like Florida, Arizona can begin counting mail in votes as soon as they receive them, and like Florida those mail in ballots must be received by 7PM on election night. So why can't they produce a winner on election night and instead drag it out for a week?

The steal is on. Kamala will be installed. The American people will know it was rigged. Will they do anything? Can anything be done?
