This is a .500 team at best.

Yup, there is it, he gets all the blame and none of the credit. I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the hot seat, but this line of reasoning from this board is absolutely ridiculous. You don't win 150 games by being a mediocre coach
I didn't say EVERY upset win the Steelers pull is due to other coaches "Tomlining". I just wondered how many of them were due to that. He's had his moments, sure. But regarding 150 wins...

He's had Ben Roethlisberger, arguably one of the best QBs ever to play the game his entire career. Let's remember Ben also has never had a losing season. (ever). He's had Bell, Brown, Willie Parker, Troy, Ike, Harrison, Aaron Smith, Hines, Mike Wallace, Pouncey, DeCastro, Villenueva, Haden, Fitzpatrick.

Yes, he has helped bring together the talent that has helped make the team successful, but he's had a ****-ton of talent to help him win some games. And frankly, he hasn't shown that he can take the talent he has and get it to the next level, excepting, of course the AZ and GB superbowls. Other than that, his playoff career has been less than pedestrian.

We might win three more games this year. Okay four. That's it. We already played SIX games at home

We can do this for all the top 25 coaches in wins, Sean Payton is 2 wins behind Tomlin, same number of years coaching, and he had Drew Bree's up until this year (pretty equal since Tomlin didn't have Ben for a year), he finished below 500 four times, at 500 once. Andy Reid, another active coach on the list, been coaching A LOT longer, and he's had some HORRID years, typically when he didn't have a real QB. Belichick had cheating and Tom Brady. Pete Carroll, didn't have an impressive W/L until Russel came along.

You'll find that most good to great head coaches also had good to great QB's with a few outliers, like Cowher (but he didn't prioritize the position, and he couldn't do that in today's game).

Tomlin has also had some pretty horrible luck when it has come to the playoffs. The year we had the best chance, both Bell and Brown were lost to injuries and we still nearly beat the Broncos. Bell always seemed to get hurt the last game of the year, or in the playoffs. Sure there have been some headscratching games, like Jacksonville, I fully believe they were looking past them. But it hasn't always been Tomlin getting outcoached... Even the Cleveland game last year, snap over the head, INT on a deflection, another INT and it's 28-0. That was 100% on the players, I really don't think Tomlin drew that up. After that point, we outscored them 37-20, but that start was too big a hole to dig out of...

Ya, that Browns playoff game was a living nightmare to watch. I'm pretty sure every fan in Cleveland came all over themselves during that game. Well, I guess it's nice they found some joy in their lives.

Put the peppermint schnapps away, peppy. Aint no way this team is winning 3 more games
Somehow, I bet they do manage to get to 9-7-1. I don't know how. But he'll ******* do it.

Those players will play like their souls depend on it and get him that sacred ******* winning / non-losing season.

Everyone in this thread is just pissed they didn't go to Vegas and bet the motherload that Tomlin would find some way to go .500 even when we play 17 games.

True but it's greatly helpful when the Browns and Bengals are in your division. Regular season win total gets pumped up but when he faces consistently good teams in the playoffs, he is one-and-done. The Steelers are currently in their longest stretch without a playoff win since 1967.

The patriots were handed first round bye's every year due to their division...

And it's only been 4 years, this year's playoffs haven't been played yet. So no, we're not.

Belicheat's record is pumped up from a weak division too except that he wins playoff games and Tomlin does not.
And we're not winning anything this year, sorry. Tomlin has been one-and-done many times with better teams than this.
