Can we please do away with the 2DL-4LB-5DB defense, it is almost useless. Jones can't beat anybody off the edge, Worilds isn't much better, neither are good in coverage either. We are to small and to light when we go to that defense, we get pushed all over the place and the only way we get pressure is if our secondary forces the qb to hold the ball and we know how often that happens

Take Jones off the field and replace him with another Dlinemen, specifically McClendon, that's where he made a name for himself a few seasons ago, getting pressure on passing downs

Ummmm....didnt we win? :)

Dick is set in his ways...Ike will be starting probably when he is healthy...just how it is.

yeah I am not sure why we don't utilize a pass rushing NT... they are out there... especially with a bad secondary

I saw a lot of what appeared to be abandoned blitzes. Players not dropping into coverage but not rushing the passer either. That's good for defending screens, draws and the QB taking off and running, but is otherwise useless.

That being said, the defense gets credit for this win more than the offense.

I will go with a good all around team effort. They all did what we had to do to win.

Theoretically, its the lineup that puts the best players on the field. The problem is Jarvis sucks, Worilds is mediocre, and so is Vince Williams.

With all that sucking you would of thought Atlanta would of scored more than 20 pts.

Their best player was pulling a Duce Staley today or they would have.

They should move to the 4-4-4 defense....

haha, a good one from back in the day. NE uses Wilfork, Ravens use Ngata, Cincy uses Pecka, etc, etc. It'd be nice to have someone push the middle of the pocket from time to time.
This defense was fine when you had Harrison and Woodley who could actually win a one on one battle.

It does seem we are generating some pressure the last few weeks. The CB blitz's from the edge were nice. In the past everything seemed to always get picked up.

Hard to admit our defense has many problems. What I did like the defense for the most part tackled better today. We did not give up the big TD passes in fact one TD was from the questionable roughing the passer but we kept TD's to field goals which was nice.

Seems like Gay is holding his own.

With Blake the weaker link I would like to see a S cheat over towards Blake. If you have to move Polamalu back in the process.........

Jones is bad. Really bad. I've seen 11 year olds with more pass rush and strength

Must be eating a lot of corn................................. or maybe they should PEE in a cup ???

Salute the nation

Ya Jones not looking good but he was out a long time...still too early.

Always excuses.

And there is always hate, he was out with a wrist injury for awhile. That whole time he would not have been able to condition his upper body strength because of the wrist (lifting, pushups, sled, etc.), so call it an excuse if that makes you feel better, but it is completely legitimate.

I'm just thankful Julio Jones didn't play or the outcome would probably have been different.

So I guess this is the opposite of a Pom Pom thread after a loss? Ok, I'll play.

Our offense was just average. We won by 7 points. If not for the pick 6 by Willie, the game is a tie. We aren't going anywhere in the post season if the offense is going to score less than 40.

Gonna take a little while to regain the strength that he lost while out with his wrist injury.

Always excuses.

Always hating

To go away from the OLB hate, one thing I noticed way too many times was Cam ******* Thomas just standing there. Not engaging the OL at all, no effort, nothing. Just standing there... what a waste, and I had moderate hopes for the guy.

I believe it was on the TD pass that Cam just stood up at the snap and took a step to his right. then ... nothing.

And play the violins and the hate crap. Jones was not wanted for very simple quantifiable issues since draft day. Age, did not look like he had the ability to grow and continue significant development. Medical issues that caused one college to not allow him to play because of concerns regarding his spine. His strength and power were questioned before the injuries. Granted the injuries have hurt him this season and he is unlikely to have enough time to recover what he lost but it does not look like Jarvis is going to be anything more than just a guy.
He maybe a nice guy and a good teammate but he does not seem to be a difference maker. I would run with Moats ahead of Jones.

We drafted this guy what 15th overall and he looks like punter and plays like one too. With all that you've said but yet we ran to the podium to grab this turd. I clearly don't get this selection and an\m starting to feel the same way towards Shazier.

I think josh mauro now has more career sacks than Jarvis.
