Thoughts on Khan's first draft?

I think Trice will play safety.

I'm excited too. I want to see them play in pads before I start dancing in the streets.

**** That, I’ve been dancing on my patio, in a G-string that belonged to a less fortunate…… who lost it……..

But, were those really TOMLIN project pet picks? Only 1 of the "Big Three" has changed from last year. That's the GM.
Not arguing. Just wondering if it's possible that some of the crazy picks of drafts past weren't influenced by Colbert.

Quite possibly…………… BOTH

Did Coolie give you permission to wear his attire?

Like we hear so often, only time will truly tell. But on paper and in theory it was a fantastic first draft for Kahn AND Weidl. I am optimistic about our future but we still have a gauntlet in the AFC and a solid Bengals team to add to battle with Ravens in our own division. But for end of April, we all should be happy where we sit today.

We're "paper champions" right now. ( Right, Lee Flowers? Too soon? )
On paper, it appears Khan & Co KILLED this draft/off-season.
But honestly, we won't really know for about 3 years.

With all of that said, I haven't been this hopeful about our future in almost a decade.
LET'S FN GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe. Rainey and Archer come to mind as well as reaching for uncle Jarvis and Artie

Fun story, I was in Disney’s ESPN bar in Florida not long after Flowers said that. Sheldon Quarles (sp?) came in and they let fans get up and ask questions. I proudly stood up in my Steelers gear and asked him about it. He rambled something about us playing each other that upcoming year and how they were gonna show us what paper champions look like. Needless to say, we beat them…. Again 🤣

I give it an A++++ hoping this class can be as good as the class of 74

I’m with you,….. in my Spirit World. I’ll go back to that time of Football greatness and re-live a general aspect of it. Once I am satisfied, I’ll return and spread the word, letting everyone know the outcome.

Almost every "expert" concludes the Steelers had a great draft. Yeah, rating a draft before the guys have put on the uniform is silly but I think we can all agree the Steelers needed to upgrade the following:
  • Left tackle. Dan Moore Jr. improved but is not a top-tier LT, will never be. Check.
  • CB. Losing Cam Sutton triggered this needs. JPJ - physical, very quick-twitch, a guy who can match up one-on-one with big WR's. Check.
  • DT, particularly 0-tech. Need youth, a 0-tech who can stuff the run and big plus if he has some pass rush skills. Check.
  • Help with the RT spot/running game on the right. I suggested getting the best blocking TE in college football in 2022. And 2021. And arguably since Gronkowski. Oh, and he's massive and ran a 4.64. Check.
  • Edge player. Watt and Highsmith should not be expected to play 65 snaps/game. The player sought needs to have pass rush skills, ability to turn the corner. Check. Oh, he's 240 lbs. with 31.5" arms and will have problems standing up against the run? Jesus Christ, if he was 6'4", 255 lbs. with 33" arms, with that production, and ran a 4.65 (he did), you think he is there at 132???
  • Legit developmental players with the 7th round picks. A 6'3", 210 lb. CB with 33" arms, ran a 4.47, 1.56 10-yard split, and produced 10 PD and 2 picks? A 6'5", 3025 lb. G/C with 32 college starts at multiple OL positions, who gave up 4 sacks in 3 seasons, did 29 reps? Check and check.
All in all, a superb draft. And as mentioned, some sources say the draft may have been the best in the NFL.

a 3 ton G/C? good damn luck moving that bad boy anywhere. literally anywhere. may have to redo the field at halftime, the steps leading in/out of the locker room, etc. MASSIVe dude. to say the least.

I have to wonder... how long before other teams come-a-callin' for Weidl to be their next GM? Our Khan/Weidl partnership may be short-lived.

Yeah, heard he was following the "Dawand diet." Not sure it's a good thing, but it is what it is.

Coolie did that and lost weight.

But later after a big dinner found it. It was hanging out north of the Mason-dikson line.

I remember when Colbert said he had a first round grade on mason Rudolph. Apparently nobody else did.

Well there is one snowflake that thinks he is the bomb diggity but yeah other than that.

I still would like to see Rudy get a job even if it is a third string opportunity. I thought he tried hard and has a capable deep arm.

I think Rudy is still waiting for his phone to ring. Maybe xfl?

Think it was solid. What burns me are the wasted picks in prior years that were clear reaches and forced us to be where we are today.

Hopefully going into next year's draft we are able to prioritize positions based on other factors besides GM dumbassery.
