Through 2/3rds of the season, What positions do you feel will need addressed in the offseason?

I can see that I am in the minority here in regards to Wilson and Fields.

I have seen nothing from Wilson that makes me think that I want to hitch my wagon to him for 2 years, let alone 3, especially with a cap hit of 20-30 million. Same goes for Fields, I would rather go with a more cap friendly Allen as QB2. This means that they need to go find QB1 in FA AND a QB in day 1 or 2. I really think they need to consider 2025 as another 1 year “show me” situation for QB1.

DL is a very big need also. If Benton can slide out, great, get an IDL early, if not then DT. They need 1 in day 1 or 2.

With QB & DL as 1A & 1B that means that WR has to be need #2, as well as a FA pickup or two. This means that those are the 3 biggest day 1 & 2 needed picks.

Day 3, I would look for another OT, unless they can get a quality one dropping on day 2. I’m not sure they have the answer for BOTH STARTING spots currently on the roster. Another CB, RB, DL and WR would be nice on day 3.

It's a rough year to need a QB. The top free agents will include Sam Darnold, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, and Jameis Winston. The draft isn't much better with Cam Ward, Shadeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe probably at the top--I'd fully expect the first two to be top-5 picks. Then there are guys like Quinn Ewers, Garrett Nussmeier, and Carson Beck...eh.

Not sure anyone would agree but I would pursue Darnold if he wasn’t locked up by Minnesota prior to free agency. Wilson would be my second option.

I would go BPA in the draft. If that meant a QB in 2 I would take one. If it meant somewhere later in the draft I would take one then instead. If it meant there wasn’t a BPA available in this upcoming draft then I wouldn’t pick one.

Meaning whatever the scenario stay true to their board.

Yes it is a rough year for a QB, but I would hate to pay out the azz for one that isn’t going to be THE ONE. I really don’t think ANY QB is going to make a difference, with Tomlin at the helm. Might as well enjoy this year then go with another Kent Graham to get a high enough pick to get the next good one.

Completely agree regarding QB and the rest too
Don’t want Russ on anything more than a cheap 1 year rental, a deal he’d likely scoff at

Would accept Fields on a 3 year deal at high end QB2 money with incentives that could push him into lower end QB1 money (starts, snap counts etc)

We need an answer to the most important position and to me Russ isn’t it (prove me wrong Russ-win multiple playoff games and I’d maybe change my mind) and Fields looks like a solid QB2 with potential to ascend to low tier QB1

Likely need to be drafting QB every year til we have our answer

Watt is signed only thru 2025. Plans mighy be to resign him...if not OLBer might be a need sooner than most think.

Obviously it depends on who is there when we pick. Even if we sign Russ for another bridge year we need that QB of the future. Sitting on the bench for a year won’t be a bad thing. I’m sure wherever Russ goes he’ll want a 3 year type deal, which I hope we don’t do. . Shall be interesting to see how Russ performs in the meat of our schedule. My incredible intuition thinks that the QB conversation will go on for a few years more.
Which is why I was not terribly upset when they picked Kenny. It sucked that he wasn’t the guy….but not one of that class turned out. There will be some swings and misses. But it’s one thing to swing and miss with a rookie contract, another thing to strike out with a high priced FA. And let’s face it the only reason we signed our 2 QB’s were because they were cheap. I sure don’t hear Denver chirping about Russ right now. Letting him go Turned out to be a good decision for them. We need to look at 1st round QB’s till we get our guy.

We certainly need that 1-2 round WR. Will George resign with us? My gut has always said he will bolt for the bright lights elsewhere. Unless we overpay. WR will be a big time priority if there is no QB worth taking.

The rookie contracts are huge in the overall cap picture. Signing a QB or WR is a huge investment. Sure would be nice to be able to draft those positions.

While Naj has had a better season his 3.9 average is the lowest among the first 22 RB’s.
There are only 4 lower than Najee in the 50 RB’s that were shown in the stats.
3 TD’s for the season. For a first round back.
He will have one game that will make me eat my words. Then the next 4 will be ho hum. Unless they sign him cheap,it’s time to cut ties. Hopefully he’ll go hog wild in our last 7 games to prove me wrong.
The guy I wanted in that Draft year Chuba Hubbard was drafted in the 4th round. He just signed a 4 year 33.2mill with 15 million guaranteed. 7 TD’s…4.9 yd average. #5 in the league yards.
I wonder if Naj would even consider a contract like that. I say move on. Use a 4th on a RB or FA.

There is no doubt we will address CB and Dline in FA or draft. And I would not be surprised if it was a first or second rounder. As I’m sure any top ranked QB will be gone when we pick.

From the super unpopular opinion department I’d make a few calls about what we could get for Watt

**** the Rams offered 2 1sts and a 2nd for Brian freakin Burns, it only takes 1 to massively overpay
Throw in a player with those type of picks and I’d have to consider it. Gotta assume we get a QB eventually so we’ll need money to pay some other guys and Watt will command a boat load.

Move on from Minkah too if ya can get anything for him as Heyward slinks off into the sunset and actually spend some money on offense in an offensive driven league.

We’d still have a young core of defenders with Benton, Highsmith, Herbig, Queen, Wilson, Porter etc

If they can’t get some playoff wins (plural) it’s time to retool the roster and how the money is spent and maybe even bring in an offensive minded HC

Oh I am sure they will plan and resign him. No doubt in my mind.

Didn't we just do that Fiji? He's our OC...

No we actually didn’t Stryker

We do not have an offensive minded HC by any means. You can’t possibly be asserting that a HC and OC are the same thing, you know damn well our HC isn’t offensive minded…maybe offensive with how he can shackle an offensive but Mike is definitely not offensive minded or any part of a retool almost 2 decades into his career.

We do have an OC who was a former HC
But we most certainly did not bring in a new offensive minded HC or this board would be ablaze with some dancing victoriously and others lamenting the departure

Are those edibles messing with your reading comprehension today, I got stronger ones yet 😎 if you’re bold enough
