TJ Thread

I heard that on SNR today...nothing official yet however.

This thread went from TJ Watt to riding white ponies. Unbelievable.

Oh as far as TJ is concerned as far as him back on a limited snap count Sunday? I would prefer he sit until after the bye. I want to live in my fears.

My biggest fear on this topic................................. pre-mature............................................................................................ return in TJ's case ......

not so much in you other sick ****-ers.......

Salute the nation

He just came back to practice after being off for 6+ weeks. It would be extremely irresponsible to play him this weekend. The plan has been for him to come back after the bye. I would stick to it and let his body get a little back into football shape. If they think he is ready, I still wouldn't play him for more than maybe 10 snaps to just get his feet wet. A soft tissue injury in this game from not being back in football shape and you may as well sit him again for the next 4 weeks.

You are exactly right IMO. He didn't get enough practice in to get up to football speed. He will more than likely be ineffective and the risk of reaggravating his injury makes it not worth it...which probably means Tomlin will play him " till the wheels and the pec falls off"

If he’s not up to football speed, he’ll fit right in with the rest of the pass rush.

The Steelers are 2-5, if he’s cleared to play I’m not going to worry about what bad things could hypothetically happen.

I thinks it’s foolish to play him this game. Tomlin needs to step up here and get Watt out of his own way and not activate him.
Of course Watt is going to want to play, that’s the competitive nature in him but sometimes the coach needs to be the adult in the room.
TJ playing with very limited preparation is not going to make.a difference in this game and if Tomlin is looking for a spark, this ain’t it.
You want a spark, then have your team fully prepared on all three aspects of the game.
Open up your offensive playbook and use the entire field, not just the sideline.
Stop running Najee wide, he’s too slow.Use more Jaylen Warren.
Scheme your defense to take away Hurts running and please cover the middle of the field.
Leave TJ rest until after the bye week please.

There's really no reason to play him this week, even if he's cleared. The bye week is coming up, get the extra recovery time and practice.
Again, the Steelers are 2-5. That’s a huge reason. The objective should be winning, not having a healthy TJ Watt after having been eliminated from tha playoffs.
