Ballsy call to go for that FG
Scheme, Mr. Tape. Pickens is far more talented at catching the ball. Watson just has Olympic track speed...So why can't Matt Canada do that with George Pickens? Watson would look good on B&G catching 8 yard out routes.
Probably because he knows his D can't hold.Ballsy call to go for that FG
My wife was yelling for them to get out of zone.I'm a bit confused...Philly ran a Dime Cover 4 three plays in a row. Why not play man w/ a spy knowing that Watson is a burner???
Remind me not to get on her bad side!!!My wife was yelling for them to get out of zone.
The big one is the slant. Watch any game and it is by far the biggest route run. Causewith the current rules it's damn near impossible to stop. They are in man. Isco one guy and slant. Never. And the reality is that it was exactly the same last year with a HOF qb in the first half of games. Now I dont know what happened in the second half. Saying Ben took over is simplistic. But the first half was just as limp dicked as this.Look at what the Jets did today with Mike White at QB. Every game I watch, college and pro, i see WRs who are open for run after catch but not the steelers. It's always pushing a boulder uphill.
The problem is that every week Canada points to plays that Mitch or Kenny missed and somehow in his mind he thinks the steelers SHOULD have scored 30. No QB hits every open WR, but in a competent offense,, there are more than 3 or 4 of those big play opportunities per game, so there are lots of other chances. Not with the steelers. You miss 2 open WRs and that's like half of the big play opportunities for the whole game.
No doubt its just mind boggling why the Steelers don't use it. Its a basic route easy to read and high completion percentage. I almost feel like Tomlin and Canada feel like its below them to run such a simple conceptThe big one is the slant. Watch any game and it is by far the biggest route run. I have no idea at all. I would say the linebackers can get to their drops easier not worrying much about run. but other than that pretty mystifying. No doubt its just mind boggling why the Steelers don't use it.
