In fact considering the crap I am sure he hears from some fans he maintains a remarkable amount of composure. I know people think he is a deer caught in the headlights but I think it is him desperately trying to maintain his composure in the public eye. He tends to try and keep things private with the team as far as emotions.

Without being facetious, it is probably a little bit of both. In any scenario, it hardly means anything/is not news-worthy either way except for those that want it to mean something for whatever agenda they may have (hate tomlin/love tomlin).

Question. Sounded like he said "Thumblin" but I could be hearing wrong. Does that have some meaning in the 'burgh that I am not aware of?

Uncalled for. It would’ve been easier just to ignore him. The guy was offering words of encouragement, it’s not like he was heckling Tomlin.

I would basically accept his reaction if the fan asked for a pic or autograph, which he didn't ask for either is why I think it's uncalled for. He may not have heard him and just blurted it out with what he's used to hear from heckling or needy fans.

Not that I know of.

A few thoughts

1. It definitely was Coach Thumblin - whatever that means
2. Tomlin was actually showing some intensity going into the halftime locker room
3. He could have been pissed at security - how the hell did this guy have access?
4. Big f'n deal

Relooking I think it was a play off his thumbs up gesture. I think he just didn't want to be bothered. Probably wouldn't have been the approach I would have taken, but any who.

It wouldn't be the approach I'd take just walking down the street. If I was coaching an NFL team and had 12 minutes at halftime and someone who shouldn't be there approached me with a wise *** comment, chances are I'd act similar to Tomlin.

Who here gets to do that at their job without consequences??

My kids youth sports coach did that recently and he almost got canned from his volunteer position...Tomlin gets paid a bit more....

Uncalled for and warrants an apology at the least

I'm not sure how fans got access to that part of the stadium. Is that a new thing. I don't think fans should be making direct comments to players and coaches in the tunnel. That said keep walking Tomlin. No need to say anything.
