I saw someone posted a stat of his get off. Is he slowing down as he's getting older? Is he too heavy as he continues to bulk up from the prime of his career?
He's just getting older. He's still a good edge player, but might no longer be the "man amongst boys" he once was.
Heyward has shown much more of a decline since the latter part of last season. He might not even be good at this point, sad to say.
For years, the Steelers defense depended on having two HOF-caliber players dominating in the trenches every week.
Now that they no longer have that, the deficiencies of the scheme and player development are really starting to show, as there really hasn't been a worse defense in the league since last Thanksgiving or so.
