Tony Romo should be our coach

I was a Romo hater but it’s clear from his new gig that he has excellent real time game instincts.

I doubt he would give up a cushy booth job just yet. But if he did, you’d be stupid not to have a conversation with him.

After watching Romo in the booth during various games this year, I think we would have won that game if he was our head coach. We've got weapons to score and tomlin was the one responsible for us playing not lose in the fourth quarter, instead of knocking them out when they're against the ropes.

Romo was rite just clock are hit Martavis in the end zone on the fade it. Either we would have gotten the touchdown are a pass interference witch would have gave us the ball on the 1 yard line. But on the time out he should have three plays that he likes Togo to period

SORRY Dude, counting on pass interference isn't happening as you saw what pass interference was and not called on the failed clock play.

Yeah but if it had been Brady throwing to say Cooks, it would have been called.

Those of you who induce ROMO to be this super coach based on a few game announcer gigs need your glasses cleaned. **** there is a reason he
couldn't get over the hump playing the game. Maybe if he started out in a lesser role and worked up, then maybe. He is like many announcers,....
paid to announce. They speak like they know everything but it's a practiced gig, think about it.

No **** sherlock, reverse the roles on the JJ touch down. Cheaters on offense and gronk catches it EXACTLY the same way/play, that TD never gets reviewed yet alone reversed.
I hear exactly what we are both saying

He'd make a great coordinator. Of course he's seeing the entire field now so it's a lot easy to breakdown. But even then, I think as a coordinator he can make those adjustments

After James’ TD catch was overturned Ben has to call two plays in the huddle. Both should have been fades in the end zone with Bryant and Ju Ju. You don’t make it then plenty of time to kick the FG.

It was third down..... they just needed one play unless you go for the win instead of OT. The pass to Eli had 0 chance. The pats had 4 guys lined up along the goaline along with a LB underneath. Needed to throw something to the outside of just chuck it into the stands

Tony Romo should be our QB - he would never have thrown that pick that ended our season

Ben Roethlisberger: Call to throw into end zone came from sideline

“It wasn’t a fake spike,” Roethlisberger said, via Alex Marvez of Sporting News. “I was yelling, ‘Clock it!’ I felt like that was the thing to do — clock it and get yourself one play. … It came from the sideline: ‘Don’t clock it! Don’t clock it!’ Well, at that time, everyone thinks it’s a clock [play] so you don’t have time to get everyone lined up.”

Rogers was the only Steelers receiver running a route, something that led to several Patriots defenders bracketing him before Roethlisberger, who said the call to go came from offensive coordinator Todd Haley in his helmet, delivered the pass.

That confusion likely contributed to the outcome, which knocked the Steelers out of the top spot in the AFC playoff picture with two games left to play.

That paints a picture that fits the "fire Haley!" agenda, the problem is that Tomlin told Haley to tell Ben to run a play and not clock it.

The other thing is that while the officials were reviewing the James TD catch Tomlin and Co. had all that time to decide what to do, and they **** the bed. Ben A.K.A. Big Dummy decides after all that time to think about what they were going to do to toss a shallow cross to Bey with Butler draped on him. Butler of course brings him down inbounds to keep the clock running.

He then proceeds to make that stupid toss to Rogers that results in the pick instead of throwing it out of bounds. There is plenty of blame to go around, and Ben should get the lions share no matter how hard he tries to throw others under the bus to cover his own idiocy.

Like I said, brain dead Ben choked

Steelers Blow Game Against Patriots Thanks To Moronic Play By Ben Roethlisberger

Just what the hell was Ben Roethlisberger thinking?

With time running down late in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ contest with the New England Patriots on Sunday, the Steelers had third and goal with time running out Roethlisberger made one of the most bone-headed plays I’ve ever seen.

The Steelers were trailing the Pats 27-24 and had the ball on the seven yard-line with the clock running. Rather than spike the ball, bring out the kicker for a chip shot and head to overtime, Roethlisberger decided to go for the old “fake spike” play and tried to win the game.

As he dropped back, Eli Rogers was the only receiver in the pattern, and he ran a slant instead of a fade. There’s no way of knowing if he was supposed to do that, but as soon as it happened, Roethlisberger should have just thrown the ball away and played for overtime. Instead, he tried to force the ball to a covered receiver in a crowded area.

Yep, a game-sealing interception on a thrown that never should have been made.

That’s just a bone-headed play. You have to throw that ball away. There’s no excuse for that and it may have cost the Steelers home field advantage in the postseason.

Just because Romo was not a 1st ballot HOF QB, doesn’t mean he couldn’t be a very good Coach. Sometimes as a player, you are smarter than your athletic ability. Sometimes you are a fantastic athlete, but will never be a good Coach. Why do players like Woodson, Mean Joe, Montana, Rice, etc.... not have a Head Coaching gig? Instead we see players who were mediocre at best, holding down HC jobs. Cough, cough, Tomlin.

What's Tomlin's record vs. Hoodie? Back in the day coaches were fired with winning record if they kept losing to the same team. Houston fired Bum Phillips; I believe after an 11-5 season because his team could not beat the Steelers in the playoffs.

There is a difference between playing and coaching. Maybe Romo knew what to do, but just could not get it done at times, which brings me back to point, he knows what to do. Tomlin and Haley do not, and Butler doesn't get a full pass either.
