Trade deadline thread

unconfirmed rumor:

Olave to the Steelers for a 2026 2nd rounder and Connor Heyward.

seems high - the rumor and value

2. If they did add a WR, they may be trading a TE, but it could be Smith, not Muth... coming off of a pro bowl season, he has more value and honestly he hasnt been as good here as he was last year. He would fit Green Bay's need and Green bay has WR surplusses...
Jonnu has been totally misused here. I have no idea why they even traded for him. All they do is swing it out to him with 1-3 yard passes it seems. I thought for sure they would be lining him up everywhere, and he would be our 10-20 yard receiver. Like Muth, these guys don’t get the targets to their skills.
So in one way if there not going to use them properly they might as well trade one. I think it’s been a huge missed opportunity.
We are still not half way through,I keep on thinking they might start using the middle more with our very talented TE group.

Last I checked the first pass of the Colts game was to him for around 30 yards and he dropped it setting a great tone for the game . Let's combine that with the fact he has deficient blocking abilities. Hes been utilized as much as needed. He just hasn't been as impressive as people would like.

sauce gardner traded for 2 firsts to the colts, wow
I have to be honest i dont think I would have gave up Sauce Gardner. Good CBs much less great CBs are at such a premium in this league. A league intentionally geared towards passing with rules advantageous to the offense and consistently handicapping the defense at that.

Metcalf drops passes. The great Heath Miller dropped passes. I could go on and on in that department with all sorts of players . They all do. Like you,I won’t judge his whole career on one dropped pass at the beginning of the game. Most of the great pass catching TE’s are not great blockers. Teams figure out how to use them properly. The Steelers have not used a TE properly for years.

Two 1st rounders for a CB when your QB is Daniel Jones? I think that's stupid
You can win a SB with Daniel Jones if you have a elite defense. Im not so sure the Colts defense is elite even with Sauce though.

This coaching staff can’t develop young players yet alone cant’ use Sauce to his full skill.

If we had traded, those would be wasted picks not for the Sauce, but for the return of his usage vs our coaching.

Salute the nation

I think most of the fans who had high hopes for Jonnu were way to reliant on what they saw from him last year. I was even hoping he and Freiermuth would become a lesser version of Gronk and Hernandez. If we're being honest and you look at his career numbers though last year was an anomaly. The real Jonnu is likely what you're seeing now. That being said as much as I've liked most of what I've seen from Rodgers I havent been impressed with his vision. Either that or he's reluctant to pull the trigger at times for whatever reason. So it could be that there have been opportunities where Jonnu was a nice option and Rodgers just wouldn't commit to throwing the ball or didnt see him.

Seahawks and Saints trade details

The Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed

The Saints get: A 2026 fourth and fifth-round draft pick

They get a good speedy WR here. Wonder if Steelers had him on the radar. Sam Darnold will light him up. Great addition for a second WR.

We are going to have to agree to disagree here. My whole point was how could we judge his talent when they don’t even use him in the way he was successful? I would throw to him 10 times line him up everywhere. Let’s see what he’s got. How can we even judge? By the way. I’m certainly not going to judge Roman Wilson on one stupid dive either. Use the kid. Get him some confidence. I’m talking at least 5 targets, and preferably some actually down the field.

We might be in agreement more then you think because im not a big fan of Arthur Smith as an offensive coordinator. If Zac Taylor is let go in Cinci I would be on the phone with him in a heartbeat and give AS his walking papers. I really dont understand what AS is doing half the time. I think Zac Taylor is just way more innovative.

We are definitely in agreement here. I did not want him hired at all after looking closely what he did with Atlanta. But of course after the Canada fiasco almost anyone was welcome here.

Smart for Jets to unload him for two firsts
They are 1-7 with him and will save on the cap and be able to stack picks to get a QB
