Trade Muth For a 3rd….?

I commented about Pat's poor blocking earlier in the year about the time of the Jonnu signing IIRC.

I'm wondering could Muth play on the outside effectively???

Hell no

Too slow, lacks the agility, limited route tree, CA3 a way better weapon as is Ben Skowronek (who can actually block and play STs)

Muth is mid AF but below average when you factor in how he handicaps the run game.

If we can get a 3rd, do cartwheels
If we can get a 4th, Khan conned someone again

A 5th, probably about right from a needy team or a decent rotational player, or an overpaid/underachieving player that was good in recent past.

I’d definitely be shopping him though.

A 6th and he’s likely more valuable to us as emergency depth and to get another year of his prorated bonus off the books before parting ways.

At this point Connor Heyward should be/is challenging for the 3rd TE, at least Heyward is versatile and more importantly…has a brother on the team.

So you really like Muth is what I'm getting out of this...

He’s no Mount Washington, he was just standing in the way of the better player. I started watching his blocking very closely last year and the more I watched the more unimpressive he became to me. Mid TEs are a dime a dozen, Mid TEs that suck at blocking are even cheaper.

More importantly I don’t think Rodgers likes him, he doesn’t even look his way in the progression when he’s out there. Saw 1 play with a chip and release where he is without coverage and Rodgers didn’t even give him a look and threw it into tight coverage to his checkdown.
