Trade with Seahawks

I think you need to stop with your gloom and doom, every sucks, they are morons posts. If you don't like what they are doing, root for another team. I'm a yes man because I have as much control as you do. None .Brillant call.

No a moron post is when someone equates a HOF QB to a oft injured nothing TE. That's a moron's post. You're a yes man because you just agree with everything they do. That's not a fan. A fan wants what is best for the team not what is best for an individual coach. You've added nothing to this discussion except speculation and bitching about what I think.

I'll root for whoever I want to and I'll talk about what ever the **** I want to talk about. Don't like it? Don't read it.

It’s a dam 5th round pick. Why are we acting like the steelers just gave up the franchise to get Vannett?

TE even before McDonald and Grimble injuries was a huge need. I was expecting a trade for a TE in preseason. The only thing that surprises me is the steelers waiting this long to address this glaring hole. As I said earlier, I think it was 1 more chance to see if Grimble could handle it.

it was stupid to think Grimble and Gentry could be adequate depth. The mistake was made months ago. This trade now is not a mistake in any way and it’s insane to think it is. Vannett is a guy that can play immediately in the Jesse James role. There was a huge need now and for next year as well.

would anybody have an issue if they drafted a TE that could block in rd 5 next year? Hell no. They simply got a guy a year early and they got a more sure thing because he has NFL game tape.

as for him being a free agent next year. Who cares? Does anybody think he won’t be easy to re-sign? I wouldn’t be surprised if they sign him to a new deal within a few weeks.

If you want to dislike the Minkah trade because you think it would have been a top 10 pick and the steelers could have gotten a better player, I disagree but I understand that argument. Being against the Vannett trade just makes no sense at all, unless you think Vannett is awful and I haven’t seen anybody say that.

because you are acting like a spoiled child that the Steelers didn't do what you wanted. Go cry a ******* river if you don't like. They got a TE now, so shut the **** up about it.

Go **** yourself. I'll keep talking about it you moron. So you can clinch your pearls and ***** all you want. It ain't happening sweetheart. So again **** off.

Few points: You can't ***** about them not getting a TE early because some people believe otherwise. They were hastily working the phone to find that next great TE. Also this is not the same thing as draft a TE in the 5th round because the guy only has one year left on his contract. So unless you believe in giving up draft picks for a 13 game run I don't know what to tell you. He might stay after the year but there is no way to know that at the time of the trade.

Again it isn't a huge issue for me. But having the steeler fanboys calling this some kind of a great trade is mind blowing.

They tried to rectify the TE position was that so valuable 5th round pick that you are talking about. Give Gentry a chance. I'm sure he will pan out, afterall, he was picked in the 5th round. So, they have Vance, Grimble and Gentry. Looked solid to me with that drafting of Gentry. When both TEs went down, sure, they will had to do something, even if that means giving up that ever so valuable 2020 5th round pick to get a capable TE in here.
I do have to ask, why are you not in the FO? You clearly can run the team better than them. Give me your resume and I will forward it to the Powers-At-Be.
Bingo!

Grimble is/was crap, has never done a damn thing, McDonald is good, but an injury waiting to happen, and Gentry is a project guy. Grimble should've been sent packing at any point in the past 2 seasons and veteran should've been brought in as soon as James left.

Yes, I do. They have the same TEs at the start of the year that they had last year with the exception of James who left. So they did nothing. You have any proof they did anything? I'd like to see it.

Why does anyone need proof they did anything you are the one saying they did nothing even though you have no knowledge of what goes on inside the organization. You go on about strawmen and hyperbole lol you're the perfect example of it, hypocrite. Just because you state something doesn't make it fact. I read nothing about them trying to get a TE before this season so obviously that is irrefutable evidence the Steelers did absolutely nothing. lol

Which is why I called you a yes man.

Also are you equating a 2nd year 1st round graded QB in Mason to Grimble? And you are equating Ben to Vance? Wow.. just wow. Please just stop.

I assume you'll take your own advice and not talking about anything until after the season? Are you going to let it play out? No, which is why you are talking about it now. I don't know what they tried to do and you don't either. I just know what they didn't do. They didn't sure up the TE position before the season. They thought they could scrap by with Ben being Ben.
Accidental like.

Vader, we get it. You and a handful of others are upset. That's fine. Perhaps because you've spent money on the Sunday Ticket - maybe or maybe not. Perhaps you've spent money on season tickets? I don't know nor am I going to assume why you're all soooo heated.

Fact: fans have NO SKIN IN THE GAME. Nothing lasts forever and we all know the age old adage, "you cannot make everybody happy".

If you choose to continue to wallow in negativity - that's your right. But I don't understand why you'd dub someone a "yes man" because of their opinion?

It's going to be a long season already - I've prayed for patience and understanding.

That is all...

I don't have any proof, Vader. I do not work for the Steelers.

Unless you have phone records, emails, etc... you don't have proof either.

Your view is speculative just as those who believe that the team was not just sitting on their laurels...

I don't need proof to prove they did nothing. I can look at the roster. They did literally nothing. They are the same TEs as they had last year without James. So I don't need to prove anything. The roster speaks for itself. They may have "tried" to do something but the end product is they did nothing.

That is a fact. Indisputable fact. But you guys can't get over it so you come up with the usual "You don't know what they were doing" BS. You and your like are examples of black and gold glasses wearing fanboys.

Again, I understand this is a difficult concept for some of you. The fact is they didn't do anything to the TE spot. That is not debatable. You can ***** about whether or not they "tried" to do something but the FACT is that they ended up doing nothing.

Why are you trying to insult fans? I don't think they are seeing it wrong they are just hoping for the best. Drafting a TE is addressing the situation regardless if anyone liked the outcome results. So they did do SOMETHING. Now they just did another something and there is a lot of the season left.

And the season could still go very south, we lost our franchise QB.

Empty barrels make the most noise.

Again, your statement is totally speculative. Just because we entered the season w/ 3 TE's---doesn't mean that the FO didn't attempt to shore up the position.

I'm done talking about it.

The reports said they had interest in him prior to the trade. So that is "trying" to do something as well.

1st- I'm not insulting all fans. Just the few on here that can't stand the idea of someone not likely everything the steelers do.

2nd- They drafted a TE with a 5th round pick. Rookie 5th round picks are projects and aren't figured into the plans for that year. Are you really saying that they solidified their TE corp with a rookie 5th round pick?

3rd- Again it isn't that big of an issue. Just some on here can't stand anyone that disagrees with their love for all things Steelers. It's a 5th round pick. It isn't that big of a deal.

You do know the difference between "trying" and "doing" right? It is a FACT that they did nothing after the draft to shore up the TE position. They may have thought about it.. postulated about it.... dreamed about it... prayed about it.. but they actually didn't do anything about it.

I am saying they addressed it. I would have canned Grimble and brought in a vet TE. But that is me.

I don't know that there is one fan right now that loves everything Steelers, seriously. Everyone is disappointed in the play of the team.

Yeeees, and now they've done something about it. Welcome Nick Vannett on board and stop obsessing about the past. Or don't.
