Would provide the pick we need for a franchise qb. Cause you know one of those are kind of important.

That's what the Steelers do. Splash plays in the off season

well, it's apparently what they do now DURING the season (fitzpatrick), might as well do it during the offseason, too

and replace MT with who?
suggestion cut Foster Chickello
let go Mcullers Hargrave
Sign tier 2 NG 1 vet WR 1 TE 1 vet RB (AP)
draft te WR C

hmmmm a couple first rounders. I think pigs may fly first. They did trade away their no.1 pick. Times are changing.

replace MT with you, F83. you'll be the toast of all press conferences, none of the press members will be understand you, it'll be a blast.

and what brilliant young coach or vet is out there to replace MT Ron riveria? get urben Meyer?
until ben hangs retires of we have consecutive losing seasons we wont see the Rooney's let tomlin go.

Brilliant trade tomlin like we have a smart assistant that can easily step up. 1 suspect DC a terrible OC, same for ST unknowns at DL WR RB coaches no QB coach.

I dread the UNKNOWN of who they would replace Tomlin with FAR LESS than the KNOWN of what this team will be if he comes back to coach.
I think we have already landed a better result with Minka than we could have hoped for drafting a player in the bottom half of the first round next year.
The DEF is looking pretty good going forward, the OFF depends largely on Ben's return and the draft. We have too many guys that spend time in the china cabinet.
Getting rid of Tomlin and securing some good draft value in return seems like a win win to me.
I don't live in my fears. Pull the trigger and shake this organization up a bit.

1. Would Urban Meyer's scheme work in the NFL?
2. Would he even want to coach in the NFL?
3. Would he even want to coach Pittsburgh?
4. Would we want to pay Meyer what he wants (he's rumored to want full personnel control).
5. Would our vet players take to what a COLLEGE coach is teaching?

You want to keep the defense up? you bring in the 49ers DC (Saleh) and let him pick an OC.
You want to get the offense going? bring in Carmichael from the Saints and let him pick a DC.

I like your two HC possibilities. I lean a little toward Carmichael but like them both.

Just me, but I would take a look at Eric Bieniemy. Plenty of NFL experience. OC at KC for 2 years now - you know what that offense can do and what Mahomes has become. Probably knows guys that could run the offense and would have someone in mind as DC since he's been around the league so long. Would also fit the Rooney Rule. Just a thought.

Agree with you Slash that Superman just came up with 3 possibilities that I would look forward to..... and seeing some new blood throughout the lower coaching ranks, ESPECIALLY SPECIAL teams would be awesome

Getting a high draft choice from Washington or multiple picks would be icing.......
make it happen Daniel Snyder....make it happen

See , when we all put our heads together we can come up with some viable options to take this team into the next decade.

And

If we can get said coache's 80% the talent our current coaching staff has had, we'll be 3 SBs richer.

NEW YEAR predictions

Danielle Snyder and the Skins of Washington take Tomlin off our hands in exchange for # 2 overall pick in the draft, WR Terry McLaurin and a Cool pair of Shades of his very own.
Taking Chase Young with the #2 pick in the 2020 draft

Pittsburgh shakes up the coaching and front office staff with the following appointees

Kevin Colbert leaves the organization since Tomlin is no longer around to advise him on draft day......... replaced by COPE
Art Rooney takes the Rooney Rule to another level and hires from another Minority group .... Canadians ....meet our new HC ....SteelerSASK
SASK spent little time filling out his coaching staff and scouting appointments using his greatest resource.. STEELER NATION FORUM
DIC takes over as the new DC because he already had 2 of the letters required in his name which makes him already more qualified than Keith Butler and he is only 1 letter short of being the 2nd coming of DICK (LeBeau)
Slashsteel and Coolieman were both in the running for OC because of their proficient use of offensive language. In the end the nod went to Slash as his complex terminology won out with Twatwaffle conquering ********.
Coolieman later accepted the position to lead the Scouting Program.....mainly because he realized hearing the word COACH day after day would have eventually had him being admitted across the hall from AB
We look forward to seeing some newly coined SLASH plays on Offense this year .... side note...Randy Fichtner was offered a position handing out towels during timeouts but declined due to the complexity of the job position.
Our Special Special Teams Coach Danny Smith has been finally replaced by HOOT......key points about this hire...... Bazooka rescinded on the free season long supply of gum to D. SMITH ... the added expense of the Steelers supplying the gum would have created more dead money against the salary cap than AB's exit did. Tough decisions had to be made.....kudos COPE
In Hoot we have a man who can walk and chew gum at the same time in addition to his love of watching countless hours of tape while enjoying a beverage. This bolds well for motivating the special teams players to study the difference between front and back of the opposing team. Something Smith was never able to do during his short and storied tenure in Pittsburgh.
Rounding out the coaching staff .... LBs .... Superman....who else could lead our Super heroes, TJ WATT and CHASE YOUNG
WRs .... Hines57 accepts the position after deal to bring in Hines Ward falls through
RBs....SASK takes over this position as well.....saved him time firing whoever would have run every back 5 times each/game
Steelworth, OMAR, bermudasteel round out the scouting program for east and west coast.... all refused to leave the warm weather conditions of home .... facetime only required

As OC I will be shaking things up. Conner will be a backup. A QB and RB will be brought in. Foster and BJ will compete for the G position. I will relay to the coach the need for a new WR and Oline coach. The coaches with a lot of experience at the positions or a hungry college coach(s). The QB will be a vet experienced QB who can back up Ben while Mason develops.Ben can run his offense, but I will use a lot of slants and short to intermediate passes when scripting plays for the rest of the QBs. It will never be run run pass primarily. It will always be mixed up. I will throw in some West Coast formations and some rpo's. The wildcat will only be used against the top 5 ****** run defenses. I will lobby for a G or RT in the draft. You welcome...
