Trevor Lawrence Gets Paid

Leads the NFL in turnovers and becomes the highest paid player? Brilliant.
 
so, who are those "everyones" that said Lawrence was the next Joe Montana?
Here most people said he was overrated since draft day, so keep talking BS

The only metric to judge CBs is interceptions. therefore, He must be going up against the best CBs in the league.

I've been "suspicious" of Lawrence's play all along, not seeing the "greatness" that everyone was talking about. But then last year, it became obvious, that this guy is NOT gonna be one of the greatest ever; he's not even likely to be the greatest in his era. He's more likely to be the most "average" of his era. Not quite the "one in a generation" the talking heads had been caterwauling about his entire career.

Of course, he's only played 3 years, he could change the narrative but it would have to start right now. Something tells me, after 3 years, it's not likely to though. He was 10th in yards last year and I put him a few spots lower than that as far as QB talent. He's probably around the 15th best QB and for that Jax paid a king's ransom? And, the MOST turnovers of any QB the last 3 years? Really?

Look at just a few short years ago Mahomes/ contract was astronomical, and today it’s not even in the top 5 anymore.

Lawrence seems over-paid until you look at the Watson contract (Paid for what they are getting)

At least when Mahomes signed his big contract he already had a few SBs under his belt. He was worth paying the money(if anyone is actually worth that type of money). These other guys not so much.
Wonder what we will give/offer Fields next offseason if we try to sign him long term? Our entire QB situation here is simply weird.
Thank GOD we have Tomlin here running the show to keep us in it every year. Where would we be without his direction......

When they lost last year to the Titans to get Steelers in playoffs I said they aren't gonna win Sweet FA with this guy. That should have been a layup.
That is what the problem is in this league. Starting Q. Playoffs ability is no different then championship caliber leader. And if there is a difference in pay it's unnoticeable.

Trevor was garbage that whole last month of the season in 2023: 21 TDs, 14 ints, 4,016 yards, 56.1 QBR (17th) for the year. But went 7-1 in Oct-Nov. But went 0-5 from Dec. until season's end, and missed the playoff (to our joy). He threw 7 picks in his last 4 games alone. 7. And for that he became the highest paid player in the NFL. Interesting.
 
I think when you are going to have pay a guy like this you must be able to say I can win a championship with this guy or not. You cannot have a Daniel Jones. And frankly if they kept KP they very easily could have gotten into those waters if he had a better season this one.

We are likely to see if KP is as bad as his historically horrid TD % #s are (worst in the HISTORY of the NFL) or if our team and coaching was SO bad it created those horrid #s. The truth probably lies somewhere in between those 2 factors. But there has NEVER BEEN such a low TD % (with a minimum of required throws) in the entire recorded history of the NFL. That is some scary territory and indefensible by ANY person. There has NEVER been a worse combination of QB and coaching for lack of TDs in the passing game.
 
I read somewhere that Lawrence has more INTs than ANY"OTHER QB" in sports history of sports. An Tomlin gave his "buddy" this huge extension.

Yea, I'm gonna spend time proving something we ALL know is true. If you don't realize everyone and their brother was high on Trevor when the draft was going down, I can't help you: You are clueless or suffer from drug/alcohol use.

Well, since his 5th year option was $25 Million, I am guessing it will come in somewhere around 3 years 100 million with 40-60 million guaranteed
