Trevor Lawrence knocked out

If you are a defender pursuing a QB or any ball carrier and they drop low, your instinct is going to be to drop down to make the hit. Lawrence was 4/10 for 40yrds and an Int. I highly doubt the guy was purposefully trying to take him out. I just think the slide creates a dangerous situation. Alot of times you see defenders flying over sliding guys barely missing or grazing the sliding player.
Yeah no.

The dude deliberately targeted Lawrences head and threw a forearm blow. This was not just a football thing, the dude is a Fizucktard with a history of this type of thing. Don't be a retard and pay @Steeltime the $50 you owe him.

Truth. And does any sentient being actually believe the moron cheap-shot clown actually said, "Heeeeyyy ... Lawrence is 4-10 with an interception so let's make sure not to force him out of the game with a dirty hit"??

Don't be a retard and pay @Steeltime the $50 you owe him.

jizzer$50 ... welching on bets since November 2020.

The hilarious truth of the matter is that jizzer$50's failure to pay a measly $50 bet has yielded 100 times that value in mocking currency.

When a qb runs....as soon as a defender is apon him make it a rule the qb must slide....or say two hand touch.. The late slide is never good. Hurts the game.
We are not far away from the day they put flags on the QBs…

And provide them with team coordinated skirts that come in home and away colors. Hell Deebo Samuel is half way there already.

I get this, but it's also lousy to have to watch these backup QBs play when star QBs are hurt. It's a balance by letting the defenders play defense while keeping the QBs healthy.

They aren’t going to eliminate the scrambling QBs completely. Your scenario essentially does that. NO owner wants their
40+ mil player at risk.

I hear what you are saying and going for, but reality is no way the investment is going to be put in danger of a possible season ending hit.

I’m not saying they will incorporate either yours’ or my scenario, but the odds they go with the one least likely to injure the huge investment.

Salute the nation
Don't wanna get hit like a Running Back, stop playing like a Running Back. Slide as soon as you cross the LOS, and if your boss with all that cash wrapped up in you cares that much, he'll tell the coaches to teach you to do it. You wanna run, you risk getting hit. Hell, make it illegal, immidiate fine, whatever, if you can take out a qb with top tier talent for the season, suddenly your chances get a hell of a lot better, and if your guy stays behind the LOS all year, he's a fuckload safer. We didn't need all this **** when the equipment wasn't half as good.

Now, all that being said, dirty hits to the head are bullshit in my opinion. Incidental contact is one thing, but headhunting a guy is another.

I don’t know man.. and I hear what your sayin..
But I’m an ole football purest at heart and I don’t mind watching a game where the team with the quickest and fastest personnel lined up wide, aren’t the major factors in the outcome of a football game…

If I was commish I would reduce the guys suspension because of his public response ..
I think it was from the heart and displayed sincere remorse, and no intent to injure..

I also believe after watching the tape several times…
Number 16 slid late purposely to try to draw a penalty..
QBs are risking their health every time they pull that stunt..

That was ugly and the genius who is guilty of the dirty hit, Azeez Al-Shaair, has a history of dirty play. He had a dirty hit on Caleb Williams, punched a guy on the sidelines after that dirty hit, and had a dirty hit on Josh Allen.

Enough. Suspend the guy for the rest of the season and let him convince the league he has changed before he allowed back on the field.
Ask yourselves, "how long was Kazee suspended on his 'defenseless WR' hit?" This better align with that punishment or worse...

If you want QB’s to be protected, then they should be banned from running, period, end of story. If they are going to run PAST the line of scrimmage, they should be considered a RB at that point, and not be offered any additional protection than a RB gets. This trying to offer different protections for different positions is discrimination, either the protection should be the same, or don’t offer it at all.
So you're suggesting that the mobile QB be banned or called a RB if they cross the LOS???

Interesting take though...

So when the guy decimates yet another player with a dirty hit, oh wow, WATCH OUT! Roger is gonna lower the boom!

The first play i think he hit the guy in bounds. Obviously the punch was bad, but many players do that. The second one he put his hand on Bradys throat, but it did not look forceful. He did not punch or squeeze it, but they cut the play off so hard to say what happened after. The third one was definitely bad. The guy was way oob before the hit. The Lawrence play is still iffy. If you look at an angle that shows both players they started their dive / slide at almost identical times. He did lead with the forearm but was it intentional or just instinct If you are running 15mph and dive you are kinda stuck at that point. I just think sliding is more dangerous than a tackle. I'm fine with the league protecting QBs to a point, but sliding seems to be asking for head shots. If you start your dive the same time the QB starts a slide there is not much adjustment you can do. I think you could take many players in the league and if you went through every tackle you could find questionable hits / tackles. I don't know anything about the LB, but his "dirty play" package wasn't too spectacular.

NFL fined Bosa for wearing a MAGA hat after the game saying no politics allowed. This guy had free palestine written on his shoes.

No, not calling for a running QB to be banned. They can scramble all they want/need behind the LOS, and enjoy the protection they now have. Teams can then protect their massive investments. I just find no reason to protect them MORE than a RB is protected when they cross the LOS. After crossing the LOS they have no other play than to run and/or lateral the ball, so they are no different than a RB. The difference now is Defenses have to let up when they cross the LOS because they are protected from really being hit, this unfairly handicaps all defensive players.
