Anyone know what set Troy off exactly? It was surprising to see and I had not seen or heard what the cause of it was...

Probably sick and tired of players not in position, not tackling and the defensive line pushed five yards from line of scrimmage.

Nothing really out of the ordinary for a lot of players, but out of character for him....Troy kind of went off during the Iggles game during a def "huddle" near the bench. Stormed off to the bench and Lebeau went over and sat with and talked to him for a minute. One of the local announcers said it was as "animated" as he's ever seen him. I agree he was fed up with the suckitude ...who knows what touched him off.

I assumed it was because the rest of the defense was playing half-assed, sloppy football the whole game. Not to mention getting humiliated by the Eagles 2nd team. Somebody needed to go off on them.

I'm just glad that someone is mad that we suck. I think we need to bring Bobby Knight in as a motivator at this point.

Troy is a Hater......Haters got to hate.

Because mike Mitchell ain't all that. They need to let Shark Thomas play free safety. Hell with Mitchell.

Somebody needs to light a fire under the ***** of this sad bunch of underachievers on defense.

Our defense doesn't have much talent on it. In all honesty, name some of our starters who would be an automatic starter on a top ten team. We have Troy when healthy and who exactly?

i'm guessing he wasn't yelling at anyone else for his pitiful missed tackles.
that is some serious "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" type **** right there. be mad. but don't think that you didn't **** up plenty yourself thursday

Lot of talk about it on the local news but I have not seen any video of the rant. May be able to see it on the NFL rebroadcast of the game

Nice to see a veteran showing leadership

He would and could have provided more of that "veteran" leadership by showing up at more of the non-mandatory offseason training sessions. Hell, maybe if he had, the defense would be just a little bit more in sync.

I suspect that Troy realizes he is nearing the end of an incredible career, and he does NOT accept yet another uninspired 8-8 season and no playoffs.

Recorded game, since I was still at work when it was broadcast. Knew the horrible outcome going in, but even then, I was still surprised at just how bad and uninspired the play was. One good kick return, decent pass blocking in the 1st half, nice pick by Troy ... and that's it.

The defense seems 100%, completely unable to stop a credible passing offense. No pass pressure, inevitable breakdowns in coverage in the secondary, and if that's not enough, new rules that make it a penalty to have innocuous contact with receivers.

I can certainly understand the reason for the rant.

with this schedule, if we are not at least 8-8 it would mark the biggest clusterfuck of all time. And Fab brings up a good point, other than Troy who has been an incredible player but is clearly finishing up his career....who do we have on D that other teams covet? Anyone?

I've heard all the **** arguments, so save them, I'd mention Timmons for sure. I'd also mention Cam Heyward, and of coarse our top "franchised" player Worilds. :)

Salute the nation

Oh eat ****, gimme a ******* break. Troy has EARNED the right to chew ***** on this defense when he feels its warranted

I would have said Lamar Woodley, but we let that oft-injured LB with proven talent go so we could keep another oft-injured LB in Worilds with proven "potential".

I wish we had kept Lamar and moved him to DE like the Raiders are doing. Lamar and Worilds coming off the same side -- would have liked to see how that would have worked out. I know $$ was an issue, but so is winning.

i apologize mrs. palomalu.

but your son looked like **** sans the int.

The whole defense looked like crap. Doesnt mean that a proven leader cant apply a corrective ***-chew on the job, when he feels the need.
