Can someone explain to me what good carry permits are? I personally don't feel I (or any other law abiding citizen) should have to have one to possess a gun, concealed or otherwise.

I guess it depends on your job and where you are. Odds are you and I are able bodied men, not exactly easy targets for thugs who prey upon the weakest or oldest.

But what if you were a small woman, old, or disabled? Suddenly the need for defense goes up. Obama has done what he can to limit the 2nd amendment by stacking the court with liberal judges and trying to limit ammunition.

Trump only needs to show his tax plan and spell out how much the middle class will save. I think he can save middle America 5-10K a year, and that would be huge for many families.

Politicians are best judged on action and intention, never fancy words. Here Trump soars above all.

I think you misread Rod's post. He isn't saying "why should I conceal carry?', he's saying "why should I need a special permit to conceal carry?".

I haven't seen the show but I like the looks of the walls. Mexico controls their southern border but they allow illegal from S. America to sneak into America. But they won't allow them to stay in Mexico. They have a wall and very strict immigration rules.

The 2nd amendment places NO such restriction on us. People w/ criminal records and most w/ psychological issues already cannot have firearms, no?
My point is that I am guaranteed by the US Consitution the right to possess a firearm, period. There are no caveats such as "concealed", "open", in the home, outside the home, etc.

The "permit" simply states you meet the requirements of not being a criminal or insane which would be easily ascertained after the fact should the need ever arise for you to use your gun. It's nothing more than another tax.
