MSNBC, CNN Forced To Eat Crow After Learning Trump Pressed Putin On Election Meddling

President Trump forced MSNBC and CNN to eat crow after he addressed Russian election meddling during his first sit-down meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

A number of anchors and pundits on the two media outlets assumed that Trump wouldn’t raise the interference issue due to his somewhat cozy relationship with Putin. Analysts operated under the speculative assumption all day Friday.

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria had a particularly astute observation early Friday, guessing that bringing up election meddling would be a great political move for Trump because the media would be forced to report positively on the meeting.

Trump, Putin meeting: 'Neither wanted to stop'

"One of the reasons it took a long time ... is because once they met and got acquainted with one another fairly quickly, there was so much to talk about. There was just such a level of engagement and exchange that neither of them wanted to stop," Mr Tillerson told reporters.

He said the two men connected quickly and had "a very clear positive chemistry."

I think Trump was a better choice for the Russians, since they knew he'd be more receptive as opposed to painting them as villains.
