Well, personally, I'm pleased that I will get to vote (you won't BTW) on Both Flake's and McCain's replacements in 2018 and 2022 respectively. It will be interesting who the parties come up with. Perhaps the Dems will put up the same candidate as last time, whose campaign ads consisted of nothing but I wore cowboy boots as a child and still do today. And I agree career politicians are the problem, whether it's R, D, or I after their name. Two terms in the Senate and they should go back to their life's work.

Senate Chaplain Barry Black in a morning prayer on Wednesday called for more lawmakers who will stand up for what is right, "regardless of the consequences."

“Give us more senators who are true to duty as the needle to the pole,” Black, a retired Navy rear admiral, said. “Give us more legislators who are not afraid to call sin by its right name. Lord, provide us with more patriots who will stand for right, regardless of the consequences.”

Black’s remarks came one day after two GOP senators tore into President Trump.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said he believes Trump will be remembered for “the debasing of our nation,” and said the president is not a good role model.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) later in the day announced that he would not seek reelection in 2018. In a fiery speech on the Senate floor, he calling Trump’s behavior “reckless, outrageous and undignified.”

Black has offered pointed prayers in the aftermath of events such as the government shutdown and the shooting at a congressional baseball practice.
