two games

Very true. And I am all about old school. The Steelers built their identity around beating the **** out of people. You may beat them, but you will have to pay the price and you'll remember all week as you heal.

Sad they killed that brand of football. Which they can still at least tackle well. They do penalize players for stupid **** when it comes to the qb. That's what having too much money involved gets you . A bunch of silly rules of engagement.

I miss team identity guys like Mean Joe,Jack Lambert, Greg Lloyd,James Harrison, Hines Ward, Doonie Shell and Ryan Clark.
This statement still holds true for me. Unfortunately the rules, which are never applied on a even level, say otherwise.

"I believe the game is designed to reward
the ones who hit the hardest - If you can't take it, you shouldn't play!"

-Jack Lambert

Just for his mindset and smashing people. Yes ,I'm a big Clark fan.
Fair enough. We all have lesser heralded players we like a lot. Personally, I think Joel Steed should be in the hall of fame.

Well not in the HOF for Clark. Just guys in my opinion carry the torch of what Pittsburgh Steeler Football is about. Or used to be about, before we got all 3-5 yard pass happy and soft...haha

Steed was a monster. So was Big Snack.

I was a big Larry Foote fan. Certainly not the most athletic guy but was very solid for several yrs
One of my all-time favorite Steelers. Deeply under rated, IMO.

Ryan Clark used to knock guys out of games. At our fan club, we used to call him "The Lobodomy."

some here will never understand what the first years were like.

From what you all say, pissed I didn't sign up to be a part of the depravity sooner.

And what was Hank the Tank's deal? Keep hearing rumblings about him.

Loved watching him and Farrior together. They were a great pair.

And Clark put his body on the line for some serious killshots.

Clark will always get a plus for his training camp approach as well. More often than not he stayed late interacting with fans. He also honored his children with different backpack themes. SpongeBob etc. The little things that sometimes go unseen by the general fanbase, hasn't been forgotten by this fanatic. I know I shouldn't but I also lessened likes of players who showed the opposite. Plax was a tool in training camp and Big Snack the majority of times avoided fans. Hell our very own BigBen had me walk with him to practice. As he was in a hurry, he signed his highschool jersey while I held his shoulder pads. Little things that stay within my memory banks.

Good stuff, /man. That's one cool dude right there.
