Not sure how many have heard about this one but it does not look good. Say a prayer it stays calm as my daughter is on campus right now for a summer nursing bridge program. They have locked them in their dorms but they have swat and armored vehicles right outside their dorm as we speak. Apparently the video will not be good when released today.

Apparently the video from the officer is not going to show the officer in a good light. Press conference is at one I am staying close enough to get her if it gets ugly.

Crappy thing is the prosecutor put down the whole UC police force as not Cops when they are full officers and stated the university should just use Cincinnati police. Problem is they would have to hire 93 full time officers to replace UC's department. I don't see that happening and that would make me want to pull my daughter out of UC.

the campus police is a joke, it always has been. I would gladly support the UC force becoming an official district of the municipal CPD.

But then who foots the bill UC or Cincinnati. I don't want to see them lose the manpower they have just added around UC. Ono has made a priority of trying to upgrade the size and quality of the force. Considering the reputation around campus that is important. I had no desire for my daughter to go there until we actually visited and saw the strides UC is or was trying to make to insure saftey for their students. One bad apple does not mean they are all bad. This just as easily could have happened anywhere. Despite what Deters said CPD cops do not want to be the ones patrolling the frat party crowd and just busting drunk students. I think most of them would rather UC maintain their own force and patrol anround the campus area. They just need to better delineate what they should and should not be patrolling for. This was a piss poor reason for a stop and probably should have just been called in to CPD and let them handle it if not just ignoring it.
