Ok folks, can anyone a little more versed in this than myself answer me this question..

Does Trump have a plan in place to create more manufacturing jobs? Does he have a plan in place to produce more pharmaceuticals in the US?

Thinking about tariffs and everything going on, how are we going to regenerate economically? Most of our medical comes from India or China, so what’s the next step?

He has offered a low tax environment and no tariff if they build here. The question, is that enough for a widget builder to set up shop here?

How would you ever know what plan Trump has? The media continues to lie and fabricate stories you have no idea what he is really doing.

I think he is doing himself a huge disservice by giving ANY interviews to the media. Any information given out should be directly to the American people.

I honestly have no idea, however I can attest with certainty that pharmaceuticals only started showing up from China during Barry's administration.
India and Puerto Rico before that, but China is a recent player and growing.

His stated plan is to give the US manufacturers opportunity to have fair trade, and that plan is working. He also is attracting jobs here by getting investment in US jobs and businesses. That's also working.

Why do ask?

How long will it take widget maker to start up operations here? I think that period of time will be too long for the patience of Americans and others. People are really nervous.

I have been working in manufacturing all my life .. I have worked for some of the largest American manufacturing companies, ranging from DuPont, American Standard, Playtex to Ford Motor Company ..I am currently a Site Manager for one of worlds largest Staffing Agencies..
I am embedded in a P&G plant where I supply labor as needed to support their operations.
Since COVID … it is extremely difficult to find people to work.. the only people that seem to want to fill any openings are from the local Haitian community..
My point is ..
I love the idea of returning manufacturing to America but Trump snd his administrations problem will be finding skilled or even semi skilled labor.
Gen Z seems to be fat, dumb, and happy and does NOT want anything to do with an honest days work..,
Thank the lord I am retiring in July!
The country is in dire danger of remaining the worlds economic power..

Same goes for healthcare. No one wants to “work”.

This country really needs to do a Evan of people who are claiming to be disabled or getting a govt assistance and watching TV all day.

Lots of waste is happening

Great insight. Sensational headlines on tariffs will soon meet the reality of managing supply chains. The work ethic of millennials and Gen Z are not enough to make 'Murica great again.

Trump must have a plan for that.

I’ve worked manufacturing for the last 25 years. My son who is 19 just got into the same line of work as me. We both work in maintenance at BMW Mfg. We are not seeing any shortage of young people willing to work. I don’t think it is quite as bad as perceived. If they pay and benefits are good young people will want the jobs , that is the key.

I worked in manufacturing for three years with Toyota. Good pay, decent benefits, and the Japanese "advisors" will work you like a Hebrew slave. Most weeks we worked 6 days a week, and some weeks were 7 days a week. It got old pretty fast. We got most federal holidays off, and the factory shut down for a week over the summer. The kicker was in order to take those 5 days off you had to use your vacation days. I only got 11 vacation days a year and 5 PTO.

I work more hours in maintenance. But production associates only work 40-42 hours a week. 4 day work week. The benefits aren’t as good as when I started 25 years ago but the pay is great and the benefits are still better than anyone in our area. You can raise raise a family and have a good family life working here.

Guys. Teachers are bailing just as fast.

I think DJ can confirm ... a LOT of teachers are the epitome of employees who don't want to work hard. I think the underlying problem with a lot of government workers is that they don't relate job performance to wages. They get paid tax dollars so just raise taxes and pay me more.

I think you are right but the undeniable fact of the matter is this: fixing the destruction of American manufacturing that has taken place over the last 35 years is going to take a good deal of time. Trump is trying to generate short-term improvements with the tariff approach and thereby generate some goodwill with the voters to give the country a chance to actually cure the problems.

It's like losing weight; it didn't take 2 weeks to gain those 30 lbs. so why the hell would you expect to lose the weight in 2 weeks?

You are correct, It will take time to move, set up and begin production. This is also going to be delayed because companies will attempt to ride things out hoping for another change in administration and their direction. My hope is that Americans have had enough of the failed previous policies and elect another who is committed to continuing the direction for another 8-50 years.

This is also my fear with the “instant gratification” American voters.
People are really nervous.
Because they don’t really believe things are as bad as they are.

Because the media say that if it doesn’t happen in 2 weeks, then it never will

You and I have the same hope, Forged.

Because they don’t really believe things are as bad as they are.

A lot of voters do know the reality. The endless series of lies about the Chinese flu, and masks, and 6' distance, and the vax, and shutting down businesses have made a very large percentage of Americans realize that the government is full of corrupt lying grifters who don't give a flying fudge about the truth.

And they would know cuz they is experts.

Government ... where a guy earning $175,000 per year can own four houses, a fat guy wearing a dress is in charge of giving medical advice, and a 320 lb. woman whose only job seems to be losing elections is "attractive."

1) Devalue/implode China
2) maintain USD hegemony
3) re-align global alliances
4) Inflate the debt away, relatively
5) train the next generation of US political leadership
6) Instill confidence, globally, in America

Tariffs make imported goods relatively more expensive and domestic good relatively less expensive. It also leads to foreign companies making product here to avoid tariffs, thus increasing American jobs.
Additionally, lowering taxes and regulations on businesses makes it more profitable to produce things here instead of overseas. Of course to the Democrats, less taxes and regulation is like waving a cross in front of a vampire.

So that begs the question: Where the hell are these young people getting the money to live their day to day lives? How are they paying their cell phone bills, rent, car payments and gas? How are they surviving without an income?
