Versatility

i did? Help me cookie.. help me understand where i went wrong.
there are absolutely no similarities between cooch and myself

if you think there are you are as dumb as calling me cookie makes you sound

plus you get all butthurt over me pointing out one grand example of when versatility in an OL was an exceptional positive.

I don't have a problem with versatility if it is something that you absolutely need and there's no other options. When Rod Woodsen, our best defensive player, blew his ACL the first game of the 1995 season Carnell Lake moved in to fill at CB around the mid season mark. Without that we likely don't get to the Super Bowl.

Some guys are just born football players and able to do that kind of thing. But it's not something you should be striving for. I agree for maximum performance the starters need to specialize.

From the game before the bye till season end we AVERAGED over 140 yards per game on the ground…
it's easy to run the ball against the Aints, Colts, Faiders & the Falcons.

i would look at the rushing commitment before the Bye; when the Steelers racked up all those losses.

The concussion issue is best prevented with a good OL and solid running game, no? Also, I think it clear by now that 1st and 2nd-round RB last one contract. See Elliott, Kamara, Bell. So get what you can and replace.
i do agree.
i also see Najee taking so many hits and i think - if they didnt have Jaylen Warren then Pickett woulda had 3 concussions this season.

i argue that it takes more than just good OL and a solid RB: it takes playcalling that establishes an identity, playcalling that emphasizes your player's strengths and not their weaknesses. Otherwise... i think the Opponents run downhill so hard on your ***. The Opponents see your limitations and account for that minimal risk - they do not bite... on anything.

And then it's only a matter of time before they ring your Franchise QB's bell.

Ah. Versatility. Like mac & cheese. You can make it bland, make it spicy, you can add chicken, bacon bits, etc.

However sometimes keeping it simple is just as fulfilling. Did I just compare a pro football lineman to mac & cheese? Yes I did
Thing is, you can add whatever you want, but you still have to have a high quality Mac & Cheese to pull it off.

Versatility should never be underrated. I watched this documentary movie about one Mr. Robert Boucher, Jr., who attended THE South Central Louisiana State University and played for the Mud Dogs. Apparently, he not only played the water boy but also every other position on the field.

I was hoping the Steelers would draft him but he apparently decided to go into teaching and marry some astrologist. Oh, he also loved his Mama.
