Was Mr. Terry Bradshaw a first ballot hof-er?

Here's the thing.......

Terry Bradshaw was a tough sun of a gun and had a gun for an arm. He also had a great OL through out near his full career. Terry ONLY put on that dumb country boy act and it has made him $$$millions$$$ but rest assured he is no dumb country boy.

Ben Roethlisberger is also one tough son of a gun with a gun for an arm. His career started out as he was above everyone else and you couldn't blame him as his rookie season will never be duplicated and his 2nd year was a SB win. It went to his head.

I have BEN a head of Terry and could do a complete (investigation analysis as this is outA memory ). Terry could play today but probably not as well as he played in his era, BEN definately can play today and probably as well in Terry"s era as it was much more simpler and BEN definately has the "TOUGH" tools needed for that era.

LOVE E'M both bout BEN gets the nod

Here's my only problem with putting Terry above Ben. Terry was a 1 to 1 QB. He had as many TDs as INTs. With as many people around here losing their freakin minds over picking up Winston (who is a 1 to 1 QB). That's exactly who you had in Terry Bradshaw.

Change my mind...

Careful you might get a call from Jameis telling you to be positive or mind your business.. Jameis is actually a 1.375 to 1 QB ....just saying
Worse yet you may start another dog pile on Jameis across the board.
I used some T. Bradshaw stats in a Jameis Winston thread .....stating you can't just judge by stats alone........it brought out the wrath of Darth
Never said I wanted the guy or to sign him .... but that doesn't seem to matter ..... some don't read but every 3rd word before freaking out

Both have the same kind of records and Big Ben has given the Steelers such a QB that has been constant there. But Terry has four SB's to Big Ben's two out of three SB wins!

Terry had the IT factor, was tough as nails and just got it done. In the beginning of Ben's career I definitely put TB at the top. Terry earned that. Ben has also earned his place at the top of pile. Jameis hasn't earned squat.

Paul, sit back and take a few deep breaths...........in......................out (repeat 3 times)

Now relax and don't let this board get to you. It's commen to hit that "Rookie" wall but be persistent and you can forge on through it. There are a lot of "nay-Sayers & negative beaters & knuckle daggers & trolls &%# & solid posters so reach out and ask for help if need be, Remeber we are always here to help you through these difficult time. IF Jamis would have had a network of good help, such as you, he would be a much better "crab leg specialist" and NOT get caught.

If you think Terry had the 'it' factor in his first 4 years as a QB, you saw more than Coach Noll. Terry didn't truly earn the starting job until part way into the Steelers' 74 season. Before that, Terry was the biggest question mark on the team, and most teams now a days would have cut TB due to his early lack of production, which is exactly what happened to Winston (though I would argue Winston was far more productive being forced into the starting lineup so young).

Terry also had the greatest defense ever assembled and a strong running game, and a great O Line. What did Winston have? Great receivers. That's it.

Here are blind stats for the first 5 years of a career:

A) 1749Rec 2817Att 62.1Comp% 20618YDS 138TDs 100INTs 85.9 QBR
B) 1563Rec 2548Att 61.3Comp% 19737YDS 121TDs 88INTs 86.9 QBR
C) 589Rec 1227Att 48.0Comp% 7524YDS 48TDs 81INTs 53.2 QBR

Who's the better QB? Tough to really tell. A has more yards, TDs, and a higher Comp%. B has less INTs and a better QBR. Still very similar stats.

If you're wondering who has the shittiest stats. That's Terry Bradshaw. A QB that would be unemployed after those stats in this league, and they include his SB win season in 74'. Ahh, it's a running league, QBs didn't throw that much. I hear you, but when they did throw, they were supposed to be accurate. Terry was anything but, and he had a rushing attack to work the play action. His Comp% Int#s and QBR are piss poor, especially paired with an excellent defense and a great running game. This is why Noll didn't fully trust him to run the offense until the 74 season

A is Manning B is Winston. Why does Manning get a pass for having 100INTs in 5 years over Winston? Probably wins. Both were risk takers because both teams were rebuilding. Indy had a better GM and consistent coaching. TB has 3 coaches in 5 years (Lovie Smith, Dirk Koetter, and Bruce Ariens). Indy had Jim Mora for Manning's first 4 then Tony Dungy. Way better coaches in Indy, though I think BA is a great coach and the right choice for TB now.

So the odd thing to me about these stats and perception is why do reporters point to these exact stats and only see the TDs from the one QB and the interceptions from the other? Is it a carryover for the black QB bias from the beginning of the NFL through the early 00s? I personally don't think so, but I also can't explain the current bias against Winston for not being a good QB because of Interceptions. When reading defenses click for Winston, look the **** out.

To be fair playing QB back then was a little more difficult compared to todays watered down rules.

Some interesting comparisons I would still like to lean towards BigBen being the better of the two..

GREATEST ROOKIE starting QB season ever, sophomore year.......... A SUPER BOWL win........... sorry but I'm not seeing Terry Bradshaw's beginning better than Ben's. I think maybe people get caught up in Terry's complete career and compare to sections of Ben's where as BEN is still in his career as an active player.

Granted I love the m both for their accomplishments and STEELERS contributions but I still lean towards Ben being the better of the two.

Bradshaw was pretty good in THE big game. Didn't throw much against the Vikes and had issues against the Rams, but still.....

Blah blah blah stats. I have my gold colored glasses on and my memories of Terry include a tough, get it done, game manager. He was one of my heroes. Harris, Lambert, Greene, Swanny and so many more heroes from my youth.

I would say so. I watched Terry on Celebrity Ghost Stories last night. It was pretty crazy, episode check it out if you haven't..
